Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

askye, it is good to hear that you are feeling better.

smonster, I'm glad you found someone you can work with.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Ick. A teacher at a high school that I attended for a while was arrested for having sex with a 16-year-old student. I remember him -- we were always joking about him being a perv, and there were some rumors going around, but never anything that added up to an actual accusation. Though someone else who went there tells me that, a couple of years after I'd left, there was a girl who accused him of something, but then she retracted it.

Somewhat interesting, though not really surprising, to notice the reaction from former students -- a lot of male former students are saying publicly that this is a huge shock, that they never would have expected to hear anything like this. A lot of female former students are saying privately that he always seemed kind of creepy, and remember specific things he said or did that were just "off."

I shouldn't have said the other day that I'm never hungry on the GD diet because suddenly I'm starving all the time. New stage of pregnancy?

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

There is a reason I take time off around my birthday. There is never a promise that the day will be what I hope. Today I am spending time with cat number 2 at the vet. He was sick all night. And now I get to sit and wait. I am pretty sure he is improved from last night, but he is here.

Askye you sound so much better!

Sorry, about the Ick Hil

And good to hear you are hungry AJ

Congrats to the 5 k runners

Hungry is difficult when I'm not allowed to eat more than what the diet says I can eat. I guess I'll call the dietician back if it persists.

Has anyone here dropped cable? Is there anyway to do that and watch local channels as well as cable news shows without a cable box?

I've done it. For local channels, you can get an antenna, but that depends on how good your reception is -- where I live, all the channels are broadcast from the other side of a mountain, and antennas are fairly useless, but for people in less mountainous areas, you can get local channels that way. Which particular cable news shows do you want to see?

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

If your local stations have digital signals (and I assume they all do), and your TV is new enough (by "new" I actually mean "built in the last 10 years, maybe even longer"), the TV will have a digital tuner that should pick up the local stations.
