Several studies have shown that artificial sweeteners can trigger a rise in blood sugar. Here's a summary of one [link]. I don't think something like La Croix carbonated water, with no sweeteners, could be the culprit.

There are no sweeteners of any kind in the Polar seltzer I drink. So, maybe it isn't doing anything, but I'm still going to cut it out for a couple days and see if it makes a difference.

Also, sj, did you see this piece about nuts in the NY Times [link]?

No, but I have seen similar studies recently out of Great Britian. I have been relying heavily on nuts, seeds, and various kinds of nut butters for protein throughout the day.

aw ... that's my favorite summer wine ... a little early for me, but it may be warmer where you are (it's supposed to get up in the 70s tomorrow, warmer Friday, then down into the 50s and 60s over the weekend. Monday, there were snow flurries not too far from here.

I was cleaning up a bit tonight and I opened up a box of stuff I had order for ltc, and I forgot I had ordered myself a pain of pregnancy jeans. They fit! And they're capri's so I don't have to shorten them!
