Sounds good to me.

Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
I hope you're right, brenda.
Definitely good. That carries a lot of weight.
A known quantity is almost always a more comfortable pick, but more important it's unlikely they would be going to the point of bringing you in for a full day and multiple meetings if the people who already know you weren't enthusiastically on board.

This. And good luck! I'm so glad you got the interview!
Oh Maria, great news! And yes to what everyone else said about the fact that you never would have gotten to the all-day interview (which, as Omnis said, can actually turn out to be exciting and invigorating) if the people you know there weren't excited you're applying. Kick that impostor syndrome in the ass—you've got this!
Best wishes to Todd and Tep for a better day.
Maria,
good luck, I am sure you will do just fine. Note: for a faculty job, your schedule is a typical interview visit + a second day + and dinner and breakfast and lunch with people who are interviewing you.
For someone like myself who isn't an extrovert but can present as one, I need about 2 weeks in a dark room to recover afterward.
You are all phenomenally awesome. Thank you.
But realize, you have 14 more days to put up with my shit about this. There will be moments when I just cannot deal.
And then there are moments when I will be very angry, like right now. Based on the compensation plan NH company laid out, I would have made a significant amount of money (mid-five figures) on the business that I brought into my current company, for which I received NO commission or bonus. I sold myself short by taking the job here. No use in beating myself up, but it's frustrating.
Maria, I wish you luck.
And as for the money you could have received ... if you can, start a new job and try to leave the resentment behind. My experience has been that this kind of resentment, and anger, will hurt you ... and won't register for your current employer.
Do what's best for you, what will bring you the most happiness (or, at least, contentment).
Todd, all the luck in the world to you too.
I won't let it bother me, but this is the first time I've ever been treated terribly by an employer. I just don't understand why they treat their employees this way. It's such an old-school mentality that's counterproductive.
