That will mean a lot to her, Trudy! Thanks for the vote of confidence.

And now I will go out and do some day drinking. It's a minor holiday of some sort around these parts...

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Leap of faith ~ma to your sister, brenda! I did something similar when I moved to New Jersey and it turned out great. You're a good sister!

Always Anti-fascist!

Sounds cool. There really is no such thing as "security" or "getting ahead" anymore, anyway, might as well have fun with it!

That's exciting Brenda--tell her best of luck, from me!

Sister~ma, brenda. That takes a lot of bravery. It's great she's got you for a sister!

ION, I spent $900 on a new pair of glasses, yesterday. I almost wish I had cataracts, because if I could get my vision to a level where glasses didn't cost this so GD much I would be eternally grateful.

I was pretty lazy this weekend, but at least I had a good excuse in hosting tommyrot for his 50th birthday weekend. There was a lot of watching of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and fun conversation. I got to meet his sister and sister-in-law and their kids at dinner, yesterday. They are a hoot!

Our wings are not tired.

Yikes! That is seriously a lot for for glasses. I need to get some cheap ones for DH. He loses them, often. I figure if I get some extras he might keep them.

It is good to hear that you were able to spend time with tommyrot for his big birthday. Jealous!

Mostly it's my prescription, I'm extremely near-sighted with a good helping of astigmatism thrown in, with progressive trifocals from age and by the time you add it all up, it costs. I didn't do myself any favors, though, by going for frames that are 1/3 of the total cost. Gulp. It doesn't help that my current insurance doesn't cover any part of it. My last one covered $100 for frames and $100 for lenses, so glasses usually didn't cost more than $500. Still a lot, though. I set up a flexible spending account last year and this year to account for new glasses.

It's kind of weird to realize that in two weeks I won't need glasses except for reading, and those can be got anywhere. I got the lens implants that correct for astigmatism, which cost $800 extra.
