Lorne: Take care of yourself and ah, make sure fluffy is getting enough love. Gunn: Did he have anything? Fred: No. And who's fluffy? Are you fluffy? Gunn: He called me fluffy? Fred: He said make sure…wait. You don't think he was referring to anything of mine that's fluffy, do you? Because that would just be inappropriate.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Ok, they asked for my resume, so I tweaked it and sent it over. Now I haven't heard anything more regarding the 25th. Someone please tell me not to freak out.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Companies move slow, especially HR. Do not freak out.

Maria, do not freak out.

I was fairly useless today at the library bookstore because my back is awful right now. So, I am consoling myself with a cappuccino and a croissant. Sigh, well I was good on my new diet for a few days.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Well, my life's gotten ... interesting.

We're working on getting a new website up and running. It's been in the works for months - originally, it was supposed to go live at the end of May - a soft launch to be followed by a public announcement. oops! couldn't get it done! Then rescheduled for June 17. oops! couldn't get it done! Then re-rescheduled for June 29. oops! couldn't get it done! Then re-re-rescheduled for June 8. oopsie!

Now, in theory, it's supposed to go live tomorrow evening.

I am, in theory, the point person, responsible for getting shit done. Only EVERYONE in the office has access to make changes. And make changes they do. I'll fix something and then, an hour later, someone's gone in and gotten cute ... weird font stuff, links to URLs that don't have anything there, crappy images that are so big they force text off the screen ... and factual errors, misspellings, grammatical errors, weird punctuation ...

Now I'm doing what's supposed to be the "final" proofreading ... and people are still going in and putting in junk.

We've got one young guy who's our "social media specialist" ... who keeps deleting stuff that we need (like a search function on one page). We've got the people who have to have red type, in case someone misses the IMPORTANT INFORMATION they've put up.

I got them to get the last version of the Adobe creative suite, since the computer that had the up to date version (two versions out of date, but mine's THREE versions out of date) had died. I'd hoped they'd install it on my computer ... but they installed it on the empty computer that had the more up to date version. Then, a few days later, when I tried to use it, it turned out the contractor who'd done the installation hadn't completed it. You need to sign in within seven days of installation, or it'll stop working ... and suddenly I became responsible for getting that taken care of.

And my good!boss has left - told me Monday he was leaving, officially Friday ... and then, this afternoon, left - he had some vacation time and took it for his last two days.

I'm about to crash - actually, this morning, I couldn't get out of bed. Between physical exhaustion and depression, I'm not doing well.

Can you have them assassinated? I would offer, if I were in the area.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

Holy crap, Todd. I got tense just reading that description of the situation, let alone living it. Dayum. Good luck, so much calm-ma.

Assassination sounds like a good option. Or some smiting! I'd like to do some smiting ... as long as I don't mess up the carpet ....

On the brighter side, I found a nerdy love song. There's some "bad words" so I'd advise using ear buds.

We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

Oh Todd, that's so stressful! Can you give yourself some kind of treat? Pedicure? Massage?

I'm having a weirdly stressful week given how good things are overall. I'm really bummed that I injured my knee in last week's 10K race, and my doc has told me I'm not allowed to run for a couple of weeks. I had to cancel my SD half marathon registration, which I've been training for for months. Very sad. I've already signed up for a late October half marathon, so at least I know I have that to work towards, but it's a big disappointment. I also today learned that Bank of America has well and truly screwed us over for the last time on this loan application (remember the one I initially started back last year in October?), and unless a miracle happens, it's not going to happen. I'm very disappointed and sad about that since it means years more indentured servitude to the credit card companies.
