I use orphan socks to dust, and crappy tights or orphan thin socks, I stuff with catnip and tie a knot in for cat toys.
Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
The other thing I hate about housework is, I feel like I put in a lot of effort, I'm tired and hungry, and I'm STILL nowhere near done. I wish I were one of those infinitely energetic people who can whirl through the house like a sparkly tornado and clean all the things in a day or a weekend.
All that work, and no apparent result, and then you've got to do a lot of it all over again.
That is definitely one of my big problems with housework.
We are on the road. I think I have enough clean clothes. If not, I'll do laundry at Mom's.
Happy travels, sj.
I don't mind vacuuming, since I like to go barefoot and crunchy carpets are unpleasant. But dusting is my nemesis. The second a surface is sparkling and dust free, more dust starts to accumulate. And dusting doesn't really do much of anything to improve my quality of life. So it gets done once a month, if then.
I kind of like doing laundry. Sorting takes less than five minutes. Dropping dirty clothes into the washer and setting it going takes even less time. Then I can goof around on the computer while listening to the machine going, and feel like I'm accomplishing something.
I'm with Calli. I am good with all parts of laundry through folding...but then the "putting away" stymies me.
I have found the best time for me to get anything done in the kitchen is while I am microwaving something else. Because then I'm like "Oh, I'll just clean dishes for the 4 minutes while that heats up". And half the time that's enough to get them done, and the other half I'll be like 'Well, I just have one dish left, I'll do that and then get it out of the microwave"
The carrying and bending part if laundry is what's making it difficult for me at the moment.
I totally do that! Making and reheating the coffee is pretty much how my dishwasher gets emptied.
Oh yes, coffee! That's the other kitchen thing I do stuff during. It's like, I'm not a morning person BUT that's when I tend to do the dishes, because I"m already in the kitchen, waiting...
Maybe that's why I like Marie Kondo's book so much. She treats everything as if it has a spirit, which comes rather naturally to me.
Same here.
I do things during commercials. Dishes, tidy up, etc.
