Going into an interview knowing you need time off for something is not uncommon at all.
I have experienced this both from the employee and employer side. Not unusual at all.
'Beneath You'
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Tep,
given your skill set and kind of experience, employers will be looking for a solid employee who will stay at a company for awhile. Training new people is a pain in the ass and you have shown significant loyalty and stability.
Given these traits, any future employer should be okay accommodating planned vacation time and other things that are far enough into the future. If this were your first job at a Stop & Rob, who knows if you would get a choice, but you are experienced, talented, and show good work habits.
Insent, Tep.
Plus, your company being bought out wasn't something you could have known about so telling new-and-awesome! employers should be very understanding.
IOMeN: I am turning into that nosy neighbor from "Bewitched". The Department of Community Standards for the township we live in has been trolling our street for a few days. Today, the across the street neighbors got something posted to their door and I totally want to go over there and read it. Especially now since the storm knocked it off their door and into the bushes. I should do the (nosy) neighborly thing and put it where they can see it and can deal with it and not miss it and get into major trouble, right? In the interest of helping them out and not accidentally reading, right??
I am a shitty, nosy person. Cause I would totally be pissed if someone did that to me.
Ok, they asked for my resume, so I tweaked it and sent it over. Now I haven't heard anything more regarding the 25th. Someone please tell me not to freak out.
Companies move slow, especially HR. Do not freak out.
Maria, do not freak out.
I was fairly useless today at the library bookstore because my back is awful right now. So, I am consoling myself with a cappuccino and a croissant. Sigh, well I was good on my new diet for a few days.
Well, my life's gotten ... interesting.
We're working on getting a new website up and running. It's been in the works for months - originally, it was supposed to go live at the end of May - a soft launch to be followed by a public announcement. oops! couldn't get it done! Then rescheduled for June 17. oops! couldn't get it done! Then re-rescheduled for June 29. oops! couldn't get it done! Then re-re-rescheduled for June 8. oopsie!
Now, in theory, it's supposed to go live tomorrow evening.
I am, in theory, the point person, responsible for getting shit done. Only EVERYONE in the office has access to make changes. And make changes they do. I'll fix something and then, an hour later, someone's gone in and gotten cute ... weird font stuff, links to URLs that don't have anything there, crappy images that are so big they force text off the screen ... and factual errors, misspellings, grammatical errors, weird punctuation ...
Now I'm doing what's supposed to be the "final" proofreading ... and people are still going in and putting in junk.
We've got one young guy who's our "social media specialist" ... who keeps deleting stuff that we need (like a search function on one page). We've got the people who have to have red type, in case someone misses the IMPORTANT INFORMATION they've put up.
I got them to get the last version of the Adobe creative suite, since the computer that had the up to date version (two versions out of date, but mine's THREE versions out of date) had died. I'd hoped they'd install it on my computer ... but they installed it on the empty computer that had the more up to date version. Then, a few days later, when I tried to use it, it turned out the contractor who'd done the installation hadn't completed it. You need to sign in within seven days of installation, or it'll stop working ... and suddenly I became responsible for getting that taken care of.
And my good!boss has left - told me Monday he was leaving, officially Friday ... and then, this afternoon, left - he had some vacation time and took it for his last two days.
I'm about to crash - actually, this morning, I couldn't get out of bed. Between physical exhaustion and depression, I'm not doing well.
Now I'm doing what's supposed to be the "final" proofreading ... and people are still going in and putting in junk.
Can you have them assassinated? I would offer, if I were in the area.
