[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I love hummingbirds! So wonderful for you, KB.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

In happier news, a hummingbird has built her tiny nest on a bracket next door in the covered part of the driveway.

How neat! I have a feeder up near my front window. I really need to take it down and clean it out before spring.

Punishingly Intricate

I'm (probably) on the season premier of The Americans tomorrow at ten on FX. I'm attending a conference in a black dress with small white flowers and some truly fabulous 80's hair.

ooh! Fun! That's one we record and actually watch!

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

So warning to all the ladies (and gents who shop for ladies) out there: pretty sure that American bra sizing has changed dramatically in recent years. I took a friend to Nordstroms today for a bra fitting (because she's had a couple kids and was complaining that none of her bras fit anymore, and it seemed like a nice day out for the two of us as a birthday gift to her.) I went in as a 36c, having been professionally fitted at that same nordstroms 7 years ago. She went in as a 36b. having never been professionally fitted. We were both fitted as 34dd's. Every bra both of us tried on today was either 34d or 34dd....and they fit. Tighter through the band than either us were accustomed to...but then we were also both wearing bras more than 6 years old. DD. Unreal. Plenty of you have met me, and while i'm by no means flat chested i'm also not super buxom (well, not without a corset.)

The only reasonable explanation is that the ladies undergarment industry is gradually increasing bra sizes. Which makes sense, honestly, there's a whole alphabet out there, why not use more of the letters? But still, it's a total mindfuck to increase a gal's cup size that dramatically without major weight gain or significant life events.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

It's a shift to plus-zero band sizing, especially in Euro brands, though it's been going on for a while.

information libertarian

I wear a 32D now most of the time. I am a small-breasted woman; for 15 years I wore a 36B. I find it pretty funny, because in a lot of styles a D is very structured and has big straps for support, and I really don't need that (they often change slightly when you move from a C to a D). The problem is, people with actually large breasts get pushed out of standard sizes - there isn't anything bigger than a DD in many stores.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

THANK YOU. I have been so bothered by needing a band size increase when by measurement I don't think I should need one. Cup size well the resize is just a pain on top of my own expansion. I am saving up for a reduction.

hip deep in pie

When I went to the fancy bra fitting shop in Toronto a year and a half ago, it wasn't at all about size as much as finding the bras that fit best. So the salesperson tried on different bras that spanned 2 band sizes & several cup sizes.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

That explains why I'm a DD but none of the DD bras I can find actually fit! If a B-C is now a DD, I must be an F now. That's ridiculous.

I recall - I believe it was Aimee - defining an "F" cup as "Fuck, my tits are huge." That still makes me laugh.

I want a reduction in all of me.

brillig

I bought my last three bras online after carefully checking my measurements. I can't find front-closing 44D not covered in stupid lace or in weird colors in stores I shop at.
