Yay hard cider.
No need to picture things when there are pictures: [link]
(And again. We're supposed to get 2-3 inches of snow every 5-10 years. The 20 inches last year? The 6 predicted on Wednesday? Not in the user agreement to the Middle East).
And now I'm thinking of getting a shovel, even though I planned getting enough food so I won't have to get out.
wow! Snowy Jerusalem is beautiful!

Sounds a lot like the Southern U.S., where I've seen people freak out over snow that melted as it hit the ground -- no accumulation. 6-10 inches shuts things down for several days. But even in the Northern U.S., a lot of places will shut down for a day over 6-10 inches of snow.
oh yeah 6-10 inches is a lot anywhere. Maybe not Alaska.
But even in the Northern U.S., a lot of places will shut down for a day over 6-10 inches of snow.
Ha. Ahahahahahahaha. Cincinnati is a city that gets snow. Every year, we get snow. Ohio is not a southern state, and though Cincinnati is at the southern edge of the state, we're still not remotely close to being "southern."
And yet.
Two inches of snow will shut the city down like 2 feet have fallen, and I am not exaggerating. We have plows. We have salt trucks. But we cannot handle snow. It would be comical if it weren't so pathetic.
If we got 6-10 inches, schools would be off for at least 3 days, guaranteed.

Yep. That's what we had last time. Such a joy.
We got a bunch of snow over winter break, but I don't think it would have shut down the schools. I'm enjoying staying inside with warm blankets and snuggly kitties.
In Utah, 2 inches is cause for a bit of slowing on the highway, but not much, and the plows would only get involved if it was wet, heavy snow. Famous Utah fluffy powder normally blows away. 4 inches, and the plows are out, and idiots in 4x4s are passing the plows and honking. 6 inches, and supervisors will grumpily agree that you have a reason for being late to work. The schools will probably open late. 10 inches in one storm would close the schools, some businesses would adjust closing or opening times, other business would make you take PTO if you refused to drive in it.
I'll put it this way: when I see pictures of Minnesota, I'm still having a hard time to believe it exists.
Aw it's beautiful. Y'oughta see it. I mean, summer is definitely the time to tour the US. But you did miss a little, not being here in the winter.
