Fred, it looks like that is some powerful stuff. It's good to know it is there if we need it. I shall call the vet to see just how restricted Harvey's activity levels need to be, and if he really needs to endure five weeks of confined living in the kennel, ask about Buprenex.

Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
I fail at today. The most recent reason being that I have locked my keys in the car and am now waiting for AAA to arrive.
sj, I'm sorry you are having a rough day. How shall we smite the ducks who dare nibble at you? Fricassee? Flambee? Hasenpfeffer (spelling? Also, is that only for wabbit season?)
The vet is well pleased with Harvey's progress and the recommendation is that if he can get over the barrier keeping him from the stairs, then he is well enough to use the stairs and for the sake of exercise - let him have at it. He does also think that it is not a bad thing for Harvey to spend some time in the kennel by way of enforced rest, and while we are asleep or at work is as good a time as any. So no need for sedation at this time. Whew! For as much fear as I have had for Harvey recently, I am extremely relieved.

Excellent news! It's such a relief when a potentially serious pet problem turns out to be an easy fix or even a non-issue (speaking as someone whose blood-sneezing cat's problem was fixed with a room humidifier).
I was thinking that if Harvey felt well enough to go adventuring that it probably wasn't a bad thing. But then again, Hubby would be up and about 45 minutes after waking up from spinal surgery.
Very glad Harvey is doing well!
Go, Harvey, go! Rocky'll give you the high four.
Harvey is basking in the warmth of your cheer and of the Exploding TARDIS blanket under which he naps.
FWIW, hasenpfeffer is rabbit - means pepper hare
I'm now imaging the Duck season/Rabbit season bit carried on inside an oven.
