This year, Planet OK is a vastly different place than it used to be. But with the right throw cushions, a little paint, it probably won't be too bad.
Where. Is. The. Like. Button.
Thoughts for you and Harvey, WS.
And happy and blessed holidays, vacations, Christmases and what's not, Buffistas.
Two holiday events down and one more to go. I have so much to do tonight and no spoons left to do it.
We've reached the exhausted stupor portion of the evening and no one's wrapped presents yet. At least it's not just me.
We spent our day cleaning our office, Tom made kumquat marmalade and I made saag paneer. I talked to my mom, and we've been watching Community since finishing up the office.
Man, there was so much crap in there!
We are sort of hermit-ing this week, but will be going to a friend's house tomorrow to watch the Doctor Who Christmas special and eat Chinese food.
I have finished wrapping TCG's gifts for tomorrow morning. So now I just have to make the peppermint bark and wrap the gifts we need for his dad's house Christmas afternoon.
Connie, that seems like a pretty good way to look at things.
Merry Xmas to my celebrating Bitches, happy return of the sun to everyone. Holiday is going well so far, relatively speaking. My dad is playing Christmas carols on his Indian flute down the hall. We read stories in front of the fire and drank nog and relaxed with cats. And, lest this seem too halcyon and picturesque, we discussed fecal transplants extensively and joked about my brother's farts. Because we're us.
Will and I had a nice Xmas eve. There were presents and lots of good food and s'mores. I got a s'mores maker for him, he's never had s'mores before and it was a hit. The other presents were as well.
We also watched Guardians of the Galaxy and I think a good Xmas Eve tradition will be Marvel movie marathon. But today after GotG I was kind of...movie-d out. We went out for breakfast and then had to go to the grocery store and so many people and so much noise. Plus I realize I have a UTI again.
So the last part of the evening was spent on the couch, Will stretched out with his legs over my lap napping and me playing on the phone. It was the kind of low key thing I wish we could do more of.
And then in the morning it's Skyping with the family and opening presents. I don't know what time, it depends on E. He's been getting up really early when he's exciting about things. For example, he's been swimming and on a swim team since the summer and they had their last meet Monday. He woke up at 3:30 am ready to go. He was the youngest on the swim team and in the swim league (I don't know if that's the right term) but as long as he can get a ribbon he's happy, doesn't matter how he places (right now is mostly last, although he was second to last, but most of the other swimmers are older and have been swimming longer - he's only been into swimming since this summer).
smonster, we were also talking about fecal transplants and farts! Normal holiday conversation around here!
I have Harvey on my lap, purring up a storm. May all of you feel so loved today.
Oh my. We noticed Harvey is feeling better enough yesterday that he might do too much if we weren't careful. This morning I slept in until 9. I usually feed the cats between 7 and 8. When I stumbled to the bathroom Harvey was at the top of the stairs. Either we did not properly secure the zipper on his little house (a medium sized soft-sized dog kennel) or he has learned how to unzip it for himself. Hmm.
The next several weeks are going to be challenging - a cat smart enough to unzip his kennel, feeling good enough to be bored with restricted activity. Oh boy.
