Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

brillig

Though the phrase "they would have wanted it that way/they would have have wanted us to continue X" is rapidly becoming sarcastic cliché, if your Uncle was a cool and thoughtful as you say, he'd be the first to tell you "Rest yourself, dammit!"

I'm eagerly waiting for the first show that replies to "Oh, he wouldn't have wanted us to make a fuss" with "Hell, yes, he would have wanted a fuss! He'd want weeping in the street and a ten-mile long procession!"

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

Thanks. My youngest sister is bailing, too. So I have a little cover.

I will be thinking of him and have suggested we also send flowers as a group. We'll see how that goes.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

quester, I felt really badly when I had to bail on a funeral a few weeks back because of stomach problems and a complete lack of energy for making the trip to RI and back. So, I know how you're feeling, but you really do need to take care of yourself first.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Darlings, how desperate for distraction are you? Toddson just posted a link in Literary for a Smart Bitch's review of dinosaur/human slash fiction.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

Oscar Wilde claimed that bad art justified itself by providing a blank canvas for the reviewer's paintbrush.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Well this thing may have totally transcended trivial matters such as good and bad and gone straight to "WTF?"

Thrive to spite them

Will came over and it was nice. Went to the restaurant and had an actual Cuban sandwich, although the bread was a little tough and not real Cuban bread, but it was local (as in made several blocks from the restaurant) so I couldn't complain. The roast pork was out of this world and they have 2 dishes that feature that so I'm getting it next time.

Then we went on a mission for a messenger bag style purse for me (fail) and boots for Will (win). I also found these "Cozy" socks by YakTraks at Dick's sporting Goods. OMG! So soft on the inside, but regular socks on the outside. My new favorites. I did, in fact, find one purse at TJ Maxx I liked but it was $220 - Damn Zac Posen! All I want is a not full size but still an actual messenger style bag.

Then we came home and played Forza. Part of my schedule for next week is online (for some reason it doesn't populate) I'm working Thanksgiving 3-11 pm and then Friday and Saturday. I have Wendesdays off and so I guess tomorrow I'll figure out which is my other day off. I'm kind of hoping for Tuesday so I can have 2 in a row.

Saturday we have a 7:30 am all store meeting about the Thanksgiving/Black Friday game plan. They usually do stuff like that on Sunday so I don't know what it's Saturday it's going to make for a very very long day for people who have long commutes or catch rides to/from work and are closing.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I now have the plastic sheeting insulation up on several of my windows, and the temperature in here has risen by two degrees. Slowly getting toward a temperature that I can actually live in. (The box of plastic sheeting that I bought didn't have enough for the rest of the windows. I'll have to get some more.)

Our wings are not tired.

Did you use the stuff the you tape around the edges then use the hairdryer? I used that up north and it worked quite well.

Thrive to spite them

So, I've been thinking about...not exactly wearing make up, but maybe wearing something like a CC cream or BB cream, I was going to say tinted moisterizer but I don't think that's a thing.

Make up is one of those things I only did sparodically because I never took the time (or wanted to take the time) to learn how to do but also because my face tends to sweat when putting on foundation. I evne tried it when I first moved up to Vermont in winter and- face sweat. But I'd like a more even skintone. The other problem I have had is finding something that's light enough. Anything that is "light to medium" is going to be too dark.

Does anyone have any recommendations for some kind of BB cream or CC cream, something that's just simple to use, very sheer coverage, and light in color.
