Does hydrocodone make you sleepy, askye? If so, I'd go for knocking out pain.

Perhaps I shouldn't admit that I have survived hydrocodone with a klonopin chaser a number of times. My wacky metabolism that makes hydrocodone keep me awake may be a factor.

Oh, I've chased percocet with ambien, because percocet gives me the jitters and makes me unable to sleep. And every time I do it, I know it's probably a bad idea, but I do it anyway.

The advice I give is not always the advice I follow.

(Incidentally, I've gone more than 6 weeks now -- in a row, I mean! -- without taking ambien. That's the longest I've ever gone in probably 4 years. I don't know why my sleep is suddenly fixed,* but I'll take it.)

*(I still take melatonin and valerian at bedtime, so I shouldn't say my sleep is fixed. But it's better. I'm going to try dropping the melatonin or valerian soon and seeing if I can still sleep.)

The klonopin is for sleep and anxiety. The hydro stuff does make me sleepy. I can probably skip the klonopin for the night and take the pain killer. Ireally should be in bed already.

Actually I'm sleeping in my recliner tonight, I normally sleep on my left side (where the tooth was removed) and I've been trying to sleep on my right side only to wake up on my left (and in pain). The recliner will keep me from rolling over.

Oh, not supposed to do that? Whoops. I don't do it a lot, and it's always been half doses, but still. Whoops.

(Laudanum. That's all I'm asking for, dammit. My life would be SO MUCH BETTER if I could occasionally have laudanum.)

I think his problem is that he is understood all too well.

Also in terms of interesting hypothetical students: What about a hypothetical vaccine for a hypothetical epidemic that is 50% effective. Add an assumption about how virulent the epidemic is (that is how likely transmission is in the absence of a vaccine) and assume one person gets the disease. Have the students figure out how many people end up with the epidemic if half the population is vaccinate vs. how many people catch the epidemic if 90% are vaccinated. Maybe the specs say it has to be social media, but if not I'll bet the hypothetical students would be interested, Hmmm I guess you could do the same thing with Facebook malware - how far does the malware spread if half the computers have 50% effective anti-malware protection vs. 90% of the computers having 50% effective protection.

Thrive to spite them

So I brushed my teeth and rinsed my mouth out, 2 things I wasn't supposed to do until 24 hours after the tooth extraction. I already called the oral surgeon and asked them if I messed up badly, it looks like there's a blood clot. They indicated things should be fine but to watch out for things.

So now I have to find something to distract myself from checking my mouth all the time and obessing over this. I also called Will to let him know how I was doing and then I called Mom to fret. She was getting ready to take E to school so I got to talk to him a bit. E thinks the tooth fairy should bring me $100 becuase I had to have my tooth pulled.

I doubt you did any harm, asyke. If it starts to bleed, bite on a wet teabag. The tannic acid in black tea plus the pressure will help it clot.

The main food to avoid is anything with little seeds, such as berries and breads with sesame seeds and the like.

I agree with E.

Also grits. They're a soft food, sure, but the tiny bits WILL get stuck. Learn from my mistake.

Mmmm, grits.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

When my kids had their wisdom teeth pulled, they each got big tooth fairy bonuses.

I also echo the wet black tea bag and nothing with small bits. I had a tooth pulled a while back and the doc gave me this cool syringe link thing to irrigate the area - it had a small curved spout on the end. I loved that thing.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

I've followed up percoset and vicodin with ambien, with no problems. (Not at the same time!)

But I have a high drug tolerance. My doc has worked extensively on my insomnia meds, and they're tweaked to such a high levels that most people would fall asleep before they'd even made it from the bathroom to bed.
