I would strongly suspect there is mental illness involved, no?

Thrive to spite them

Maybe. There seemed to be a bunch of I don't understand stuff and I'm frustrated.

I've gotten calls from people who forge their itunes password and they want the store to fix that. I give them apple's number but occasionally I'll hear but I bought it from you. I don't want to deal with apple.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

I have a med question. Y'all know I had a kidney stone that was small enough that they wanted to try to let it pass before doing anything else. Which I was down with. They gave me Percoset to deal with pain. I didn't take it every day, but I did end up taking quite a bit over 3 1/2 weeks. The stone passed late last week, and I stopped the med, of course, and I have felt like shit since then. I thought I had a cold, but now I'm wondering...could 3 1/2 weeks of moderately heavy (I went through about 75 5mg/375 Perc/acetaminophen pills, as per the script orders) use mean I'm actually having withdrawals?

I used Vicodin for my periods for a long time, but only 3-5 days a month, and after my surgeries, but not so much and only for 2 weeks or so (kidney stones hurt more than a hysterectomy, just so you know) so I've never had to think about this before. DO I just hydrate and feel kind of shitty till it passes? How long does it take?

Most of the web info I found is for long-term recreational use, and I'd rather not bug my doc if anyone here has useful info.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

You could be having some withdrawal. I did after my back surgery, because my surgeon didn't tell me stopping the Percocet cold turkey was a bad idea (in fact, he seemed incredulous that I would have a problem stopping cold turkey after 6 weeks of taking the maximum dose allowed). My primary-care doc, on the other hand, said it was definitely withdrawal.

You have a couple of options. The first is to hydrate and tough it out, depending on how bad you feel. The second is to take a really small amount of percocet (like 1/2 a pill) and taper off. How bad are your symptoms? (Mine were horrible -- insomnia, horrific mood swings, bad gastrointestinal stuff.)

My script ran out as the stone passed, and I just feel really run-down and sniffly (and am a pooping machine, with nausea.)

I've been low and started crying when Dan went to the store and only bought me one can of soup (because my tummy hurts) so there's that, too.

I think I'll just hydrate, now that I kinda know what's what. I'm not in any actual pain, and the Perc made me constipated anyway, so I guess it's no worse than an actual cold.

It does seem a little unfair -- "Your painful stone has passed! YAY! Here's some drug withdrawal to make you feel shitty a little longer! HAPPY EXTENDED BIRTHDAY!"

Thanks for the info, Tep.

msbelle it could .It could also be hyberole. Sometimes it's hard to tell.

I've had customers call and tell me something and either in the middle of the conversation change their whole story or they'll hang up and call back and make claims that the other woman they talked to promised them such and such and I've talked to them both times.

or they'll hang up and call back and make claims that the other woman they talked to promised them such and such and I've talked to them both times.

Wow, that would be so annoying, askye. I bet you can't even call them on it when they do it. Ugh.

Ugh Strix, that seems totally unfair. I hope you are back to 100% soon.

Compassionately intolerant

Oh. m. gee.

I JUST finished dealing with something like this...and then tried to explain to the owner of the pet care company about the phenomenon of clients throwing tantrums simply because they can.

This particular client cancelled a walk just before midnight the day before, when the policy clearly states 'before 5pm the previous business day.' When they received the invoice for the cancellation fee ($16) they went into a rant of rage about how NO OTHER COMPANY DOES THIS and that we are just doing this to "STICK IT TO THEM AND ALL OUR OTHER CLIENTS" as askye said...to eleventy.

Both members of the couple spent more than an hour arguing over a policy they agreed to in a signed document.

So. On one hand, we could offer a refund and just eat the $16 BUT, we are not in the wrong and their bullying behavior (to the owner, not to me) does not dispose me to reward them in any way.

Then we got the now classic "I'M GOING TO TRASH YOU IN SOCIAL MEDIA!!!1!!"

To which I now say, please do. I'd love an opportunity to respond with less crazy.

I don't normally get that quick a turnaround time, but I've had that happen. I go the confused but polite "According to the notes, you spoke to me last time. Was there someone else you talked to that gave you that information?"
