Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

What a relief, Connie.

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

Your lips to my uterus'...ears (?) Figured i'll just take a couple of everything with me and call it good. Not like they're going to be re-using any of the drapes or such.

Can I bitch for a second? I STILL DON'T HAVE A CHECK IN TIME FOR MY SURGERY, WHICH IS TOMORROW. Thought they were supposed to call by noon, so at 12:30 I called and was told that the scheduler would call by 6pm but "I'll leave a message for her to call you right away." 6:15 pm I call again and THE OFFICE IS CLOSED so I get voicemail. I am so very unimpressed. 9 pm I call and leave another message restating my deep and sincere apprehension WRT not knowing when I am supposed to show up. I am paying these people to cut into my body, the least they can do is tell me when and where to show up, definitively, more than 2 hours in advance. Seriously, as thought I weren't worried enough!

Wow. So I called the hospital main after hours line (even though it's being done in a clinic, out patient, not in the main hospital) and their scheduling person checked the OR boards and I am indeed "on the boards" for an 8 am check in, which is rather earlier than the noon check in they had tentatively told me in the pre op appts last week. So glad I knew that a whole 12 hours in advance. Oh wait.

Rewatching Community Season 1 while pouring water down my gullet. I doubt I'll be able to sleep at all tonight

Hrm, what's the best episode of Buffy or Firefly for pre-surgery? Maybe some ass-kicking is in order.

eta: and Thank you!!

Merciful heavens, erin_o. May your body cooperate and your carers be fleet of hand and mind.

Ariel? It does take place in a hospital.

For kick ass, maybe Shindig? Mal in a sword fight?

Or Trash? To see Cap't Tightypants sans pants?

Thrive to spite them

erin hope everything goes smoothly.

So I have a UTI. Vindicated by knowing my body. I saw a NP I hdn't before and she asked me some questions and was surprised at how much I knew. I told her I'd been dealing with this since I was a kid. She was impressed by what I could remember about various meds, except I can't remember if I've taken Cipro and had side effects. I remember a discussion either here or in Natter about joint/tendon pain but Idon't know if I ever had that. I'm sure if I did I'd remember.

So three day supply of meds and hopefully I'll feel better. As I was leaving she told me "Drink lots of water and cranberry juice" I told her I couldn't do the juice because of the Intersitial Cystitis and the pain it causes and we chatted for a bit. Then she asked me what I did, I told her I worked in retail. To which she responded "oh that's a waste;" and then corrected herself "there's nothing wrong with retail but you have a sharp scientific mind." I told her I just read a lot.

It was kind of flattering and kind of frustrating.
