Reynolds, I'm a dangerous-minded man on a ship loaded with hurt. Now, why you got me chatting with your peons?

Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

So Teppy, I'd say consensus of opinion is that your acquaintance is full of crap and should be ignored, always.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Ignored is probably best.

Though a "If the person is in ICU, I'm pretty sure they prefer visits to be family only, though it's hard to check for that. They definitely prefer the number of visitors is low." could certainly be warranted.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

And if you send flowers, send the unscented kind. The hyacinths were beautiful, but they made me throw up. Balloons are actually best. Maybe get an artist to make you funky animal shapes doing questionable things?

brillig

But no latex balloons.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

DH , mom. My sisters would be ok. I'd be happy to see my cats. But actually - alone time is ok. really

I have a few friends I wouldn't mind seeing, but maybe not at my worst.

I've visited a few people in the hospital, but not a lot. I'd rather send them funny animal pictures

I suspect the fact that a lot of y'all are introverts probably doesn't help the whole "would I want visitors in the hospital" bit.

True. But I still think the general rule is (unless you are family or best friend or lover close): ask them or whoever is running interference for them if they want visitors. If they are not well enough for you to phone their room, and you don't know them well enough to know who is running interference for them, you probably don't know them well enough to visit.

I was happy to get visitors when I was stuck in the hospital for a month. I'm sure that Kristin ran interference on this initially as I was pretty out of it for the first week or so.
