Ugh, I am sure I have a UTI or kidney infection, and I'm supposed to go with D to pick M up from St. Louis tomorrow. I feel like I have to pee all the time, but only a teeny bit comes out, my lower back and left side hurts badly, and I get shooting pains in my urethra. No pain peeing, and i haven't noticed weird smells or blood, and my thermometer is broken.
I HATE going to Urgent care, because the copay is higher than a doc visit, but my regular doctor's office has no openings right now, which isn't suprising.
If I have a UTI or kidney infection, should I woman up and make the 8 hour round-trip drive, or would that just be stupid. I've had like, one UTI and one kidney infection in my life, and they were ages ago.
My vote is for "kinda stupid"(Not in a bad way, but...)
Certainly sounds like a UTI, and I think that a roadtrip would not be my choice in that instance (assuming you don't want to travel in adult diapers).
The sticks a problem with the metal detectors, O_A? Or is it just because you look like such an obvious troublemaker? ;)
I don't know about stupid, but it certainly could be extremely painful. You'd probably be better off at home drinking water and cranberry juice.
OK -- off to UC in about 15 minutes, and if UTI/Kidney Infection, I will stay home.
Thanks all! Drinking water like mad so I can actually get a sample more than a tablespoon.
Strix, I vote with erika, Epic and Ginger.
I'd like to try Balkan tapas.
Yeah, I'm with the others, go to Urgent Care. Best case, they can put you on some antibiotics today and you might feel better by tomorrow!
Omnis, I look forward to hearing more stories when the jury duty is over, but excellent job at telling us interesting things that are not case-related!
I'd like to try Balkan tapas.
You really would!
Speaking of UTIs, it just occurred to me yesterday that I have not had even the fear of one since I took the fungus cure after my last hospitalization in 2012. I wonder if there is a connection there?
So, the urgent care doc
Refined my copay because I apparently don't have uti or kidney infection;there was apparently a ton of blood in my urine and he told me to go straight to the ER because he thinks I have a kidney stone and I need a CT scan.
which is just fantastic. Forgive any errors in this message I am on a dilaudid.
just laying here watching the Cooking Channel waiting for the CT machine to be ready. Best Friday night ever.

A bit of column A, bit of column B, I suppose.
We get 90 minutes for lunch. There is a Subway sandwich shop in the lobby. And today, it had a short line, so I had a lot of time. So I explored the building a bit. It's only 11 months old. Rather nice.
In the lobby is a convenience store, and a shoe shine. On the back side of the lobby is a nice courtyard with a running water shallow pool area, and some grassy area. It was nice.
Then I explored the Jury Room. It's quite large! There are 6 areas to it.
To the left of the entrance is a couple couches. Very small area.
Across from that, on the right of the entrance is a large lounge area. It looks like it could be an airport, but nicer. A series of bench/chair/couch like things. In the arm rests are a little pivot hatch that contain a pair of power outlets and a pair of USB jacks. How nice!
Back in the center entrance passageway, to the left, past the couches, are the office windows where the workers are. And beyond that, is the congregating area. Rows of black chairs. This is where they do orientation, and call everyone to order, to read off who is called to a court room.
Opposite of that on the central hallway is an office like area. A row of tables with some windows computers on it. Beyond that row, another 3 rows of tables, all with power outlets on them.
Beyond that area, and it kinda joins with the back side of area 1, is a kitchen area. Has a fridge, sink area, and microwave. And a bunch of 4-top tables to sit around and eat at.
Then beyond that is an outdoor area. Covered, so it's not too hot. Great view of the city. A bunch of tables out there as well. Quite nice.
After lunch, we had a couple more witnesses. A bunch of motions. And then we were released. Both sides have rested, but the judge wasn't done with jury instructions. He felt it would take too long, and by the time we were instructed, we would have to be released. So, he released us early. It was just early enough that there was an afternoon, but late enough to say "if I drive to work, by the time I get there, I will need to come home". So, I went home instead. Ssshh. Don't tell work.
