Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

meara, that's part of the confusion right now. My Dad's in Philly for a convention. And is one of the last holdouts in America who refuses to have a cellphone, so I can't talk to him. His wife, who's with him, has one, but I don't want to put her in the middle. Her younger son also lives with them, but is a giant ToolBag, so not a good source of info. So my mom's really mad at my dad for not telling us, but I feel like if my brother asked him not to, it's not completely out of line for him to respect my brother's wishes. Just layer upon layer of WTF.

A sad but productive day. Went to Social Security, waited 45 minutes. Woman at the counter kept arguing that she didn't need certain paperwork, it should be enough that she said the kid was her daughter. Got to the window, told them my story, they looked up his social security number and said, "Oh, the mortuary already notified us." "They said I had to come in and tell you." "I'm sorry." But hey, that's a certificate I don't have to pay for in the future, those things are expensive.

Then went to the bank to change the joint checking account to a single account. I also found the title for my car, and it's in his name, so I'll need to get that changed. That can wait till next week, I'll get VIN numbers and such and go visit DMV for the day.

Hugs for those with worries.

Connie, sounds like a productive day. Keeping you in my thoughts.

Connie, that sounds like a difficult, if productive, day. Good for you, TCB. Keep taking care of you, too.

I went to Michael's as a reward. Halloween stuff is already out, so I bought myself a new skull. That puts 15 skulls within eyeshot of where I am right now.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Go Connie!!! Birth/death/marriage certificates are expensive. I over estimated how many I needed when my mom died and have extras. Used the only certified birth certificate I have for CJ for his passport but they are supposed to mail that back.

I'm kid sitting for a 3 year old. Actually, she is the kid K-Bug nanny's but today is an extra long day and she asked if she could take a break. We are playing legos and watching The Emperor's New Groove. Love that movie

Woot for Askye getting minions!

Connie, sounds like you had a great day of productivity. I have a couple papermache skulls from my thesis show, "Red Noses". I don't think it's all that realistic, but I've had a couple visitors clearly a little freaked out by my skulls on the bookcase. I find it quite entertaining.

Today at work, we did American Red Cross First Aid, CPR, AED training. Confirmed that I can not do CPR (not surprised on that one. Hello! Nueromuscular disease!). Also confirmed, I made the right choice by *NOT* becoming a doctor. First aid was not the best section to do *after* lunch. Thankfully, I kept it all together. I really hope I never need to use that training.

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

I think it's wise to collect skulls. You never know which ones might be inhabited by a genius spirit till you get it home.

Edited to correct misleading misspellings.

Thrive to spite them

I had my intake appointment thing - which was FREE! THey don't charge for that, which is cool.

I talked to this one guy and gave him a ton of info that might be helpful, I don't know. I'm more stable than I was when I first saw the shrink but I still burst into tears a few times. He had THe Office tissues and after he handed me one he asked me if I liked the show.

And I told him I couldn't watch it because ... well it triggers all my anxiety over humilation and teasing and bieng the butt of jokes. I can watch soem parts but not all of it.

So the gist of it is they recommended a nurse practioner not to manage meds, but to help with nutrition and trying to help with energy levels and a therapist. But they have to check about insurance, somehow that didn't get taken care of before the appointment.

I've wanted to work with a nutritionist before so I was okay with that recommendation.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

At the local farmers market, I found myself able to get a weeks supply of carrot greens and beet greens at no charge. I'm in the habit of eating spinach-chicken salad for breakfast, and am now substituting the carrot and beet greens for the spinach. (I dress the salad with splenda sweetened cider vinegar, garlic, black pepper and sunflower oil - so it is a quite tasty breakfast.) Of course I like bitter chewy greens, so I can't rec this for everyone. (On the other hand, don't much like tasteless chewy greens, like a lot of raw kale). My required insulin dose has fallen again (even from what it dropped to after the last blood sugar crash), and I'm starting to sleep better too. Don't know if it has anything to do with these particular greens, especially since my insulin needs long term trend has been down, but it is an interesting coincidence.
