Sorry, Epic. That's the only fig recipe I know.
Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Bacon or prosciutto wrapped is good even without the cheese. Goat cheese doesn't bother my lactose intolerance, but your intolerance may be different.
I've had this and it was deelish. [link] I think you can leave out the parmesan.

No worries. I still marked it 'cuz it sounds yummy. And I think sj's right about goat cheese being a little easier on me than cow. I just thought I'd solicit for further ideas.

Marked!

Same here. But, if you like tahini, it's a good dipping sauce for figs. I think.
Naked. Figs on their own are plenty delish.
The one trick with fresh figs is to eat them quickly, they don't last. I just rinse them and then nom them straight up, no adornment.
I already stand at work work quite a bit, but currently it's a problem because whenever I stand, I also fidget. Like, to the point of dancing. And dancing is a huge no-no right now and makes it hurt even more, so I find myself sitting more than usual which is sad for many reasons. Surgeon was highly skeptical of working even while standing for more than four hours at at time and even that only after several months. Perhaps if I could get mgmt to sign off on one of those treadmill desks (I know at least one member of the health and safety committee has been lobbying for one for *years*. We have sooooo many health issues from the combo of shift work + high stress + sedentary that lotsa folks want the treadmill desk option, but risk mgmt is a big ole ixnay. I wonder if maybe I could push for a medical accomodation to get one in the door...very slow walking might be just the thing. And if I can type while walking on a mini stair-climber, I can totally type while walking on a super slow treadmill.
That sounds like an excellent idea, e_o. If you could get the medical exception it might help others as well.
Epic, just be careful not to eat too many at once. They have a cleansing effect on your innards.
sj, I'm still sending good thoughts your way.
Erin, I hope the recovery is quick and painless, and I also hope that work can accommodate you.
