Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

You can't leave me to my own devices; my devices are Nap and Eat. -Zenkitty

Drew, that option is a serious contender. I've picked up a lot over the last almost ten years, so getting a degree in that field is high on the list.

And thanks for the thoughts and encouragement, people.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

Aimee, so sorry for the loss for your family. {{{Joe, Emeline, Aimee, & Fam}}}

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

This is just the best. I got yet another email intended for someone else with my name (I've gotten many many of her emails over the years). I wrote back, as I always do, telling the sender that she had the wrong email address. She wrote me back, telling me "This is the email address I have for you and this is the address in which you received my email about Larry. I sent the email as a Bcc (blind copy) to everyone in the class and To (to) my address. Hope this clears it up for you."

So she's telling me I am in fact the person she's looking for? If they weren't in Nevada, I'd just show up and pretend I was the one they invited.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Much love and ~ma to the whole family, MM, Em, and MM's brother.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Zenkitty, that's just strange. It's not like your name is that unusual that the woman can't imagine she made mistake.

It looks like I'm going to have to go the route of taking the medication to induce the miscarriage sometime this weekend because it is just not happening naturally. I'm exhausted and sick of this.

ION, tonight we're having a big sale at the library bookstore. So, that should be a fun distraction.

Yes, Zen clearly you are mistaken in your belief that you are not OtherZen. Just stop fighting it and embrace the OtherZen-ness.

Huh, by this lady's logic, I really AM Dolores Beals (not even vaguely like my realname) whose mail keeps showing up at my house. So if I accept the next pre-approved credit card application in Dolores' name that appears in my mailbox, that'd be cool, right?

Oh, sj, I'm so sorry this is dragging on. You must be so ready to be done and move on. You're in my thoughts. I hope the book sale is the fun distraction you need. I'd tell you to keep your eyes open for stuff for me - but how would I narrow the list down to anything reasonable?

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Oh God, much ~ma to the Miracleborns and especially Em. {{MM, Aims, Em, family}}

Epic, thank you. I'm supposed to be leaving Wednesday for an extended birthday weekend at Mom's, and I really am looking forward to just running away from everything for a few days. However, I have a feeling that my plans are going to get interrupted by the need to go in for more tests.

We really do get all sorts of awesome things at the bookstore. Sometimes even books that only came out a few weeks before. I bought myself a hardcover of Casual Vacancy by JK Rowlings a couple of weeks ago, and I currently have a copy of Raymond Chandler's Complete Short Stories waiting for me

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

Sean: I don't have good advice, but am so happy to hear that prospects seem to be opening up. Lately my take on employment is less "do what you love" than "find a place where you can be happy and like the people around you and then work there" which isn't super helpful. Having an engineering background never hurts, tho, and seems like it would open a LOT of nice doors.

IOMeN: I have some good news! Finally got that ultrasound and no ovarian cyst, most likely what was seen on the MRI was a somewhat awkward attempt at ovulation which totally resolved. Have follow up/surgical consult on the hip pain (labral tear) and of course surgeon is way gung ho on surgery and has already referred me to surgical scheduling. I'm not 100% onboard yet, too many possible complications and negative outcomes, but I want to hear her full pitch. And I am 100% onboard for surgical removal of the adenoma growing on my liver. Want that gone. Still crossing my fingers and hoping that it can be removed without sacrificing my gallbladder. That's another month or so out for yet another MRI before going in.
