Doesn't there have to be *gold* for gold-digging?(I mean, of course, temporarily leaving aside what a horrible thing that is to tell someone. Which is right up there with stepmonster telling me in the ninth grade that she almost didn't marry my father because of my "special needs". In real life, my needs had nothing to do with that, but at least she fights constructively.) But I don't get the feeling TCG has blown off Stark Industries to be with you. I could be wrong...you could be the unassuming rich folks whose "little place" is three of my condo. Oh, she's gonna be thrilled when you're pregnant. Not. I'm sorry.
'Get It Done'
Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
But I don't get the feeling TCG has blown off Stark Industries to be with you.
OH MY GOD TELL US IF THIS IS TRUE.
We'll keep your secret. Promise.
wrod. Totally off the record.
Read quickly, this post is set to self destruct in a few hours.
But I don't get the feeling TCG has blown off Stark Industries to be with you.
Sadly, this is not true. In fact I made TCG laugh and laugh at this craziness this weekend by say, "Yes, when I met you and you were living in that crappy apartment, working retail and an internship for practically no money, and didn't own a car, I thought, 'wow there is my ticket to unlimited wealth."
Now, to be fair, TCG does have a nice job now and good benefits. We're very comfortable (although not comfortable enough that we don't have a moment of panic whenever the oil bill arrives), we don't have to worry about where are grocery money is coming from, and we have a nice (modest house). I'm aware that this is more than a lot of people can say, and I'm grateful for what we have. I would never choose a rich man over TCG because I married the best man I have ever known, but the idea that I am spending my days spending TCG's money and laughing at him, is beyond ridiculous. Not to mention the fact that I do have my own income, and that we contribute equally to a household account. All the books, lattes, and clothes I buy, not to mention my car payments come out of a separate account that never sees a penny of TCG's income. And a large portion of the down payment for this house came from my family.
Wow, if that's the accusation being made about you, that's...kind of detached from reality.
(Also, if you want me to delete the quoted part, since you'll be deleting the post it's from, please say so and I'll do it.)
Yes, please, Teppy. And yes, that is almost an exact quote. Also, apparently I was inappropriately excited about opening my gifts at my bridal shower (nearly four years ago), which proves that it is all about the money for me. The shower I did not even want (because I was embarrassed about having a bridal shower when I knew we were eloping), but my mother insisted on having because I had attended so many showers myself and Mom figured I was due.
sj, I am very sad that that delightful personage does not see your heart and your love. I am trying to practice compassion and dig beneath the layers to imagine why this person would rather see wrong which is not there than see the truth, but my desire to slap some sense into her on your behalf is getting in my way.
It mainly all comes down to the fact that I don't work, which yes she obviously knew that would cut and it does. Of course, neither does she.
Sounds like someone's projecting her own issues a tad...

Yeah, that is what I was thinking.
