I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

I told him I had been worried due to stigma and stuff and he said mental health stuff runs in his family so he understands.

Oh, I'm glad. I hope that helps ease some anxiety for the moment.

ugh, I had a temporary crown put on today and I'm pretty astounded how much pain I'm in. It is getting better now, so I don't think it's infected or something's gone wrong, it's just the regular pain and achey-ness from the work done. Which is considerably more than I anticipated.

Thrive to spite them

Glad he's getting some relief.

So the day ended with some creepy guy being creepy. Not just to me but in general and asking weird questions and standing outside in the vestibule area looking trhough the window at asset protection and the cameras.

Then he went and sat in his car with the lights on. Which really creeped out the closing supervisor. So he (the closing supervisor) didn't want me walking to my car alone. Maybe he didn't want anyone walking alone but the guy I walked out with is huge so I don't think anyone would have worried about him walking to his car. Which just hammered home that I have another story to tell if I start in on a #YesAllWomen rant on FB or tumblr, which I almost have.

So the other day I got Penny a new litter box with different litter and filled it very shallow to see if she'd use it. She did. I thought Success. I scooped it. I came home to discover a pile of litter on the floor in front of the box. She peed on the floor and covered it up. Now I'm wondering if she has a UTI and I just...I don't have spoons for this.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Good news about your supervisor, Askye. I hope you find a better way to manage. And that includes Penny.

Jesse, I hope you guys can provide some backup for each other, even if it takes a dark room and tears.

Laura, that's good news about Brendon. Teeth are nothing to mess with--I always remember Andy Hallett, and that fear, if nothing else, motivates me to attend to dentistry. I'm glad he's feeling some relief now.

Thrive to spite them

Will said if Penny had to go to the vet he'd take her, which is a big deal because he's crazy crazy busy right now because it's planting season and all the farmers need equipment or are realizing their existing equipment is broken or something.

I'm also trying to think if there are any accomdations I can ask for at work. I think all these 2-9 shifts are really hurting me becuase I'll come home and stay up all night and not feel like it's urgent to go to bed. But I can't really ask for opening shifts because next week's schedule is set and then I'm going home for vacation.

But, I might talk to my manager on Friday and ask if I can try working opening shifts when I come back and see if that makes a difference. Before G became the other full time MCSA I was working a decent mix of opening and closing shifts, but he had limitations on his schedule so I was forced into closing.

askye, I'm glad your supervisor was able to suggest something helpful and is understanding of your situation. So. important.

Connie, I've got the same problem with my hair, so I asked my daughter about Rogaine last night during my hair cut. She said that it will encourage the growth of hair, but they tend to be "baby hairs". Plus, it's very drying, so it's not good if you color your hair. Color fades faster and it leaves your hair rough. Like you, I've got moderately curly hair, so she cuts for the curl and it helps cover up the thinning spots.

Our wings are not tired.

My dear friend's mother just got her 3rd test confirming her colon cancer is gone this morning. Chemo and radiation kicked it and surgery ended up not being required. She felt her chances of talking her mom into that were about zero, so major relief on many levels. Whew!

And my co-worker with the stage 4 breast cancer, doing GREAT! She has gone from 97 pounds to 125! Blood tests are wonderful. Her main tumor has shrunk a bunch. I don't know if they are revisiting the surgery notion with her now that she is so much stronger.

So I am delighted to share the good news on the cancer front news.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

That's good news, Laura. Mine is all gone as well, although I am now on the every-6-months derm rotation.

I'm confused by the idea that Rogaine promotes only "baby hairs" -- does that mean the hair doesn't grow out beyond baby hair length? After I had Isaac I had a massive shed, MASSIVE -- I thought I was going hypothyroid again. But then after the big shed I noticed that I had more than the usual amount of baby hairs growing. Stylist confirmed that it was all over my head.

I assume that my hair is thinning as I age, but so far the coarser texture makes up the loss in volume.

Our wings are not tired.

Not at all fast enough, but they are making strides in treatment of many cancers that we assumed fatal in the past. Hurry up scientists and make it all gone!

I have massive envy of people with curly hair, as well as those with thick hair. Sigh. Color is my only fun with hair. Maybe I should color it flesh color so the scalp would blend in!
