Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Will said if Penny had to go to the vet he'd take her, which is a big deal because he's crazy crazy busy right now because it's planting season and all the farmers need equipment or are realizing their existing equipment is broken or something.
I'm also trying to think if there are any accomdations I can ask for at work. I think all these 2-9 shifts are really hurting me becuase I'll come home and stay up all night and not feel like it's urgent to go to bed. But I can't really ask for opening shifts because next week's schedule is set and then I'm going home for vacation.
But, I might talk to my manager on Friday and ask if I can try working opening shifts when I come back and see if that makes a difference. Before G became the other full time MCSA I was working a decent mix of opening and closing shifts, but he had limitations on his schedule so I was forced into closing.
askye, I'm glad your supervisor was able to suggest something helpful and is understanding of your situation. So. important.
Connie, I've got the same problem with my hair, so I asked my daughter about Rogaine last night during my hair cut. She said that it will encourage the growth of hair, but they tend to be "baby hairs". Plus, it's very drying, so it's not good if you color your hair. Color fades faster and it leaves your hair rough. Like you, I've got moderately curly hair, so she cuts for the curl and it helps cover up the thinning spots.
My dear friend's mother just got her 3rd test confirming her colon cancer is gone this morning. Chemo and radiation kicked it and surgery ended up not being required. She felt her chances of talking her mom into that were about zero, so major relief on many levels. Whew!
And my co-worker with the stage 4 breast cancer, doing GREAT! She has gone from 97 pounds to 125! Blood tests are wonderful. Her main tumor has shrunk a bunch. I don't know if they are revisiting the surgery notion with her now that she is so much stronger.
So I am delighted to share the good news on the cancer front news.
That's great, Laura! Take that, cancer!
Brilliant news, Laura! Continuing ~ma for them.
That's good news, Laura. Mine is all gone as well, although I am now on the every-6-months derm rotation.
I'm confused by the idea that Rogaine promotes only "baby hairs" -- does that mean the hair doesn't grow out beyond baby hair length? After I had Isaac I had a massive shed, MASSIVE -- I thought I was going hypothyroid again. But then after the big shed I noticed that I had more than the usual amount of baby hairs growing. Stylist confirmed that it was all over my head.
I assume that my hair is thinning as I age, but so far the coarser texture makes up the loss in volume.
Not at all fast enough, but they are making strides in treatment of many cancers that we assumed fatal in the past. Hurry up scientists and make it all gone!
I have massive envy of people with curly hair, as well as those with thick hair. Sigh. Color is my only fun with hair. Maybe I should color it flesh color so the scalp would blend in!
I don't think it works that way, Laura. But I think you are lovely just as you are.

Thanks Burrell, and on that note I think I need to get my butt off the laptop and get to the office....
Burrell, that was the impression that I got from my daughter. It encourages new growth, but it's all baby hairs. Whether or not those hang around and get longer/thicker, she didn't really say. But if it continually encourages new growth, then you're always going to have some baby hairs all the time. I guess?
