Lots of health~ma to Maria's dad.

Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Hil, I'm hoping you get a great new job before you have to sign.
Glad to hear things are okay with your dad, Maria. Damn.

Thanks to all of you!
His heart is enlarged but there's no signs of disease. No blockages and no twisting. He's on a restricted diet, which he's not pleased about, and he's going to have a full work up with the family doc. I'm glad it wasn't more serious but I've really had enough excitement to last me a lifetime.
I'm glad it wasn't a heart attack, Maria.
G has been picked up, and I am going to bed.
Relief! The same thing's happened with my dad, and it was pretty scary
I should be in bed since I'm opening in the morning, and I closed tonight.
There are two phone calls that were kind of over the top. One woman was mad because she bought a computer FOUR years ago and the virus protection wasn't renewed and it's all our fault. I guess she was auto renewing and then it stopped and so there was 5 months without protection and she wants 5 months free. From Best buy. Not the company that makes the software because "I've only dealt with you and you sold it to me". Yeah, well it's not our responsiblity to make sure your stuff is up to date.
And then someone called to ask about our price match policy. Okay fine.
But he wanted to "price match" an Amazon gift card. Basically he claimed to have an Amazon gift card, only he didn't want to shop with them "I only want to buy from you" but only if we'd knock $45 off the price of the item he wanted as a "price match."
I've got an on-campus interview scheduled for April 30. I'll see what sort of feeling I get from it. (I'm pretty sure that not too many people applied for this job -- it requires having a Ph. D. in math and knowing ASL. The number of people who fit both of those requirements, and are looking for a job this year, must be minuscule.)
That sounds like a great fit, Hil.
I've wondered before whether you have any interest in higher education administration roles. Most schools are investing in programs to change gender/SES/disability inequities in STEM fields, and as a woman with a math background and ASL it might be a good fit for you if you are interested. Quite a few people do a combination of teaching and program development or management.
I hadn't thought to much about it, but I think I'd do something like that, if someone would hire me for it.
