"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Thanks, smonster and Laura. I'm only on them for a couple of weeks. So, hopefully the time will go by quickly. Today I just have to pull myself together enough to enjoy brunch with family.

Tons of ~ma for Kara.

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

quester, how are you feeling?

I wish I could say "better" but not so much. I feel much like I did before the transfusions but my color tells me that I'm not as pale.

I had an upper and lower scope yesterday and was told not to take any of my usual sleepy-time meds, so I had a long weird night. I've had quite a bit of bleeding and gas as well.

I've taken my new thyroid med and my first and second iron for today, and have eaten so I'm hoping to feel better. But my sinuses are full and I hope I didn't pick up an infection.

This has been the scariest and possibly most expensive week of my life and I'm about to embark on week 2 of it. I have an appointment with the hematologist/oncologist that I saw in the hospital this week and I must find a primary care physician who's willing to take all this on.

I'm also going to try to return to work between the appointment. wish me luck.

smonster, I'm so glad the news of your friend Kara is good.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Sounds overwhelming, quester. Sending you lots of ~ma.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I know this topic's come up before -- what can I send to my mother-in-law, who's just started chemo? It'd be nice to send something more practical than flowers.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Health~ma, quester. Glad you're better, sorry it's so overwhelming!

Thankful for good news about Kara.

Boarding plane. Good-bye, Chicago. Ready to be home with my kitties again.

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

Health~ma to you, Quester.

I'm glad you went to the game, omnis. Kids sports are a whole lot of fun, although I often wanted to ban parents.
The parents were very tame. Hardly any cheering. Lots of score keeping. Not a lot of cheering. At times, I was the only cheering. It was strange. Not like my memories of my older brothers little league. Maybe that's the difference between NY and LA. Or maybe just the blah of Irvine, CA.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

what can I send to my mother-in-law, who's just started chemo? It'd be nice to send something more practical than flowers.

I asked Ginger this and my friend loved the gift bag I brought her. Books, magazines, lotion (not too smelly), tea, ginger candies. That's what I remember.

brillig

what can I send to my mother-in-law, who's just started chemo?

Depending on her personality, a funky, cheerful hat.

edit: or a gorgeous scarf or turban or something.
