what can I send to my mother-in-law, who's just started chemo? It'd be nice to send something more practical than flowers.
I asked Ginger this and my friend loved the gift bag I brought her. Books, magazines, lotion (not too smelly), tea, ginger candies. That's what I remember.

Depending on her personality, a funky, cheerful hat.
edit: or a gorgeous scarf or turban or something.
Scarves are good. The best ones are large square ones made of sort of nubby rayon. Satin and silk scarves slip right off a bald head.

Only on computer a few minutes a day due to hip. Sympathy and ~ma to all who need it. For possible amusement: a friend in India for the next few months is staying in a "Women's Hostel" The managers there have the following official job titles: "Warden" and "Associate Warden".

Never mind. It's probably not food poisoning because it turns out my BCPs have lactose. WTF pharmaceutical companies?

What, really? I didn't know that.
