Actually not needing validation right now, but thank you.

Goodbye and Good Riddance 2012: If the world doesn't end, I'm going to need a note

Every year we watch the Charlie Brown special, do the Snoopy dance, wish everybody a Merry Christmukkah, and thank our Secret Santas in the good riddance thread. Which is this one, in case you were wondering. 2012--better luck next time.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

As mentioned elsewhere I have been working on buying DVDs to replace a bunch of VHS movies we have. So as DVD sized packages arrive I have been tossing them in my closet. Well, today another one arrived but I couldn't think of one I was expecting. So I opened it and it was a movie I had ordered. I went to the closet and started opening those and found one I hadn't ordered.

I'm assuming it was my Secret Santa who sent me The Lost Boys. Thank you!!!! It is one of those movies I adore but somehow didn't own.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I'm about a decade behind in Christmas cards.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

I think my parents have some cards from the 80s that you could send out.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Last year we got our holiday cards out about a week after New Years. I am an Xmas card failure.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I'm pretty sure the only cards I've ever sent out were New Year's cards on purpose.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I just realized that my entire address book is on the computer that I probably will not get back until after Christmas.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I am so not up for dealing with any Xmas prep. Thank doG my family decided last year to give up the gift exchange going forward so I don't have so much to worry about, but I want to get things for some of my siblings and I've got friends to buy for as well. My head is just not in it this year, though.

Cards are pretty much out of the question at this point. Meh.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

I haven't sent cards out in years. It became an onerous task I just didn't feel like tolerating anymore. I might do a few this year, just to play around with some of my massive store of scrapbooking supplies.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

This isn't Buffistechnology, but I highly recommend working out how to synch your address book with some oneline service. Although gmail is not how I send my addresses, it's synched with both the PC and the Mac and all the Android devices, and this address book came with me from Yahoo a million years ago, when I was somehow synching it with Palm. It's always somewhere....handy as shit.
