SO one of my bosses that I like just came and told me, "I am probably gonna be sick this afternoon, so cover for me." That is what I am talking about. He just got back from 3 days of budget meetings in Europe and has to be wiped, so he wants to beg off early. TOTALLY understand. He would get needing mental health days, he would not ask co-workers to tattle on each other. I need to figure out a way that I work for just him or for that other dept I am angling for.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Anyone travelling today? Apparently all United flights worldwide are grounded.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Happy Birthday Sumi!

Happy belated, ChiKat! I hope the day off does the trick.

Congratulations, Nilly!

I am starting to get excited about Thanksgiving. I am making the pumpkin pie and cranberry salad.

I may also make Mama Stamberg's Cranberry relish finally - I need to at least try it. [link]

I also think I am going to do some yarn work this weekend and get at least one of the knitted ornaments I started last year completed. I'd love to have one knitted or crocheted item for each family member this year - ornaments are about all I could hope to finish in time.

Art Crawl!!!

Did you guys see this story about a man encountering his doppelganger in a 16th century painting at the Philadelphia Museum of Art?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

That reminded me of the "Keanu is a vampire" tumblr post: [link]

a friend of mine in nyc had pics of this painting: [link]

It looked shockingly like her greek/Italian father as a child.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

In high school once, a few of us were looking through an art book in the library, trying to find something to use to illustrate a French project, and we found a painting from the 1600s that looked exactly like our history teacher.
