See, in my fantasy, when I'm kissing you... you're kissing me. It's okay. I can wait.

Because books.

Seriously, le nubian? We have Blue Cross and I've never had a problem except in one specific case.

Allyson, just remember we're here if you need anything. I'm so sorry the broken healthcare system is making it more difficult than it needs to be.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Our health insurance, until this year, would not pay for physical therapy unless we had previously had surgery on the body part(s) that needed the therapy, and the PT was indicated as part of the recovery. No lie.

But for whatever reason, this year now PT is covered even if it is not post-surgery. I have no idea why the prohibition on it -- were people frivolously undergoing really hard, humiliating exercises [with a co-pay] just for funsies?

Probably has something to do with Obamacare.

I need to throw out a FUCK CANCER. I'm in the office today and found out a gal who sits near me just got a stage 4 diagnosis. Another gal is sending me the Caring Bridge link. FUCK, FUCK, FUCK.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Steph,

I think it has more to do with insurance companies finally realizing that good PT treatment reduces long-term costs.

Amy,

I specifically chose Blue Cross (and have had it since I have been a working adult) because it gives me flexibility. Stupid.

In further health industry dysfunction, the company of sleep health centers I've been seeing has closed done suddenly and permanently; all appointments cancelled. I found out via a robocall Monday. Some people found out when they showed up for appointments on Friday and found the doors locked and a flyer in the window of the various locations.

Once I started using the CPAP I didn't get a lot out of the bi-annual (later annual) visits, but after my last visit I was setting up a series of behavioral therapy sessions to further help with insomnia that were starting next week. While the CPAP has helped the apnea, it isn't quite cutting it on the insomnia, though it is better than it has been. Oh well. I'll have to talk to my PCP about if there are other options, as I probably do need such a place to at least get supplies for the machine.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Allyson, have you asked if your PCP can put in the referral for you? Sending you strength-to-get-this-sorted-out vibes.

Good luck, Allyson, I can't believe Kaiser is giving you such a runaround.

As for me, consistent with their history, my employer has announced that at 8AM tomorrow I will be interviewing for the job I've done for the last six years.

On the telephone, because the other applicants were interviewed on the phone and I shouldn't get special treatment because I'm local.

I can't even. (As they say.)

I shouldn't get special treatment because I'm local.

Well, I totally agree with them there. I think you should get special treatment because you've already been doing the job for six years.

'Suela, then you should definitely do the interview from home in your bunny slippers and inside pants . . .

Also, I don't think I've ever done a phone interview where I didn't flip the interviewer the bird at some point.
