If I'm having a crisis I should call 911. Which will bring me the JPL fire department. Then everyone at work will know I'm crazy. Thanks for the advice, lazy receptionist! I have an appointment to talk to the medical leave folks today. At least they're helpful.

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
I can make calls and be on hold for you and then connect to you when I get someone if that would be a help.
Aw thanks Ms Nicest. I will call the crisis counselor when I get home after I get my leave paperwork from hr. how do I keep coworkers from knowing why I'm gone? Help me figure out a lie?
"Family responsibilities," Allyson.
I'm glad you're able to do this, even if getting there is a bitch.
You're sick. It's not a lie.
Well, especially if they know about any of the stomach issues, you can just say its a medical problem and you rather not talk about it.
Technically, if you get FMLA, the HR person needs to know why (doctor has to write a note) but that is supposed to be confidential and covered by HIPAA.
yeah, health - that is all they need to know.
I am also a fan of the phrase, "It's a private matter," but since I apparently give off an air of New England chill, perhaps that sort of thing is easier for me to get away with.
I work with nurses, and it is IMPOSSIBLE to keep a medical secret, but you may be able to imply it is the IBS.
I can't believe they are making you wait a week to get treatment. Fuckers. But as for your coworkers, I agree that "medical issue" or "health-related" is all the information they need.
