Tattoos only disqualify you if they were within the last 12 months.
Two in the past two years, and I'm getting the next one soon-ish. (As soon as I find a good reference for the image, see if my live-in art director wants to tweak it at all, and then schedule a consult with my tattooist.)
The blood drive mobile was at our office the other week. Our admin stopped by my desk to teasingly remind me that it was for donations, not withdrawals.
Sending Devi vibes, sarameg
I tried to donate once, but the phlebotomist fucked up and
the needle twisted itself and popped out
(spoiler fonted for the squeamish). And then not long after that they decided to disallow donations from people who had been in the UK when I had been there. Oh well. I tried.
By the way, that fire in Chicago is
still
burning.
I used to donate blood all the time, though I have iron issues that got me nixed every so often. Even when I do pass that test my blood pressure is so low it takes like a half hour or more. I guess I don't need to worry about bleeeding out.
I like doing it, but I've gotten out of the habit.
I've never donated blood. I tried many years ago but they said I was underweight and my blood pressure was too low. I don't know why I tried since I have big needle phobia and getting blood from me is a challenge for the best of them, which makes it that much worse. My son Bobby goes every few months, they come to school with the blood bus. They love him and DH because they insta fill the bags. They do it several times taking platelets, and other stuff separately. They make me feel better for my inability to help.
By the way, that fire in Chicago is still burning.
Wow! It sure isn't from lack of trying to extinguish the thing.
By the way, that fire in Chicago is still burning.
Mrs. O'Leary's cow has a lot to answer for still, I guess.
Yeah, it flared up again on Wednesday. (The fire. . .that is.)
That's scary. Does the fact that the water keeps freezing make it not work as well, I wonder.
I don't know. Possibly. You'd think it would lower the temperature and possibly help smother it.
Also - completely unrelatedly - did you know that there is a free Petfinder app for iphones?
