I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Yikes, Sophia, I hope a little ice and rest helps!

Ugh, Allyson.

I've given up on oatmeal in the microwave, because of the 'splodeyness. Saucers have been pushed off of bowls by eruptions of oatmeal in my microwave. Cooking it on the stove seems easier to me. I do rolled oats, not steel-cut, if that makes a difference.

I'll have to look at that TJ's turkey dinner, Typo, that might suit me better than roasting a heritage bird this year. I like doing it, and having lots of leftovers, but my freezer is still full of chickens. Maybe I should just have chicken for Thanksgiving...

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Sophia, I'm sorry I have almost zero experience with knee injuries. I would ice and rest it tonight, and I would call a doctor if it still hurts in the morning. It's the popping that concerns me as something could have torn.

Who sold $790 worth of books in 3 hours at the Scholastic Book Fair tonight? This co-chair!

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Ice and rest the knee. Yes, ice sucks but put that knee up and ice it anyway.

Congratulations, Jilli! You are totally competent!

How does one make oatmeal (no prize for that segue) in the microwave without everything going splodey?

Watch it and pause it every time it starts to resemble an angry volcano. Usually once or twice when I am making the fast-ish oats. Honestly, once that starts puffing up, it's done enough to eat for me. Get distracted though and you're cleaning the microwave. Oh, unless you have and can operate a fancy microwave that can have pauses programmed into it. That would be kinda cool.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Happy Birthday ChiKat!

Went to the Who concert last night.(Never saw them live before) The concert was good, but I don't think I want to do floor seats again. (Seats in the back of the floor + short person = can't see much of the stage, if anything.)

I missed the birthday! Happy Birthday ChiKat!

I am home with my leg up and frozzen broccoli on my knee. There is a swollen spot on the left side of my kneecap, but nothing hurts when I press on it.

What it really weird is that I am knock kneed and pigeon toed, and this seems to have reversed that???

Use a tall bowl and cover it with a paper towel.

If you have any sports wrap, Sophia, wrap your knee before you go to bed. Also, take the blessed ibuprofen if you can.

I hope it's minor. I've had bad knees since my teens and I don't wish them on anyone, except maybe Karl Rove and Grover Norquist.

Not to be all medical advice all the time, but do you think I could wrap in in stretch fabric strips. I have no sports wrap, but plenty of fabric

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Sophia, that should work. Just make sure you're not cutting off circulation to your lower leg.

Probably, if you can cut a fairly long 2-3"-wide strip that stretches the long way.
