Sweet lumpy minion, you're the only one that understands. Probably 'cause I haven't sucked the brain out of you yet.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Could Plan B be sueing? Wasn't it their mistake that allowed the job to be listed in the first place?

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Holy god Suela. I have no idea how you stay sane and/or polite about this.

13 here, "feels like 7"

57th St has its own private jet stream because of the way the buildings shape wind currents, so whatever the prevailing wind chill it's probably a good 10 degrees colder than that outside my office. (But it's nice in the summer because there's always a breeze.)

Our wings are not tired.

Lovely day in S Florida. Come visit. We don't even have earthquakes like fracking Texas.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I overdressed for my office, because I got distracted by the temperature outside and forgot that it hasn't been freezing in here the past week or so (surprisingly). So now my legs are too hot.

Our wings are not tired.

We don't control the A/C in our office building and the bank downstairs seems determined to freeze us to death. I am comfy enough, but I had to bring in a small heater for one of the girls here as she was bundled in sweaters all the time. I can't imagine what the electric bill is here. It is like walking into a cold storage unit when you walk into the bank.

I love that I am flying from DC (14 degrees this AM) to Burbank (at least mid 60s). I had such a good week but I cannot wait to be home.

Sparky, I hope everything is okay with your job.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Is that the first time this has come up? My stomach sank when I saw that.

Yeah, it's the first time he's been quite so blunt.

What really frustrates me about this whole process is that it really removes all discretion from the hiring manager themself. Unless they have proof the vet is lying or something, they have no real way to exercise a preference. Even if the guy (or gal) walks into the interview in jeans and a t-shirt, they get preference over civilians, and justifying passing them over is an onerous and bureaucratic burden.

Today is so much better than yesterday. Thanks for putting up with my pest control stress yesterday.

I have shifted furniture around in my room - not just back into place but in a new configuration and I like it so much better already. Blessing in disguise. Will get CJ and K-Bug's bf to move the bookshelves back in place...though now I'm looking around trying to come up with a new configuration for those too.

I'm with Stephanie on liking full on Winter in small doses. Though we have hard darned little of it so far this year. We need more moisture - rain/snow/whatever. It has been far too dry.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Ugh, Suela. I can't believe how you, and the people who clearly know you and the quality of your work and actively want you there, are being painfully slow-motion screwed by this whole miserable process. So totally demoralizing for everyone (and, when things like this happen and the vet-with-preference comes in, I'm sure it sucks for the vet too; even in a maximum-discretion workplace, it's not hard to suss out when everyone misses your predecessor and wishes s/he were still here).

And huge vibes to you, Sparky, and your entire department - and what the fuck alien dictionary are the higher-ups using for their definition of "feel good"?
