"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

The Oatmeal has a long comic about making things. I kind of feel like this should be a series because he seems to be making like 3 points in here.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

I'm taking the rest of the day off. Between the prednisone making me want to eat the house and the neb meds making my heart race, I can't brain.

Oh, Suzi. I am so sorry and I totally get that. I've had a nasty cough for the past few days and have resisted getting prednisone. I just hate the side effects so much. I'm going to see how I do tomorrow and if it's still bad, I'll ask my doc for a refill. Don't wanna, though.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Yeah, I just read it. It's pretty good, and it could probably be a series. He makes some interesting points, some of which he made at the book signing I went to (like disabling comments).

Heh, when I dated Marti the Medical Student, I frequently had conversations about our respective bad days. Hers usually involved being in pediatric heart surgery for sixteen hours trying to save some baby's life while the entire room full of doctors and nurses hand massaged the baby's heart and they had to make a triage decision about how much of that blood type they could use on one patient. And my bad day was missing the bus and getting to work late and spilling my coffee.

Heh. Well, so far today I told my boss that I had too much work, needed someone else to do it, and really recommended that they hire someone IN FREAKIN LA to do the work. And she was like "but then you wouldn't have any work!" and I was all "Um, DUH!? THEN I COUDLD BE ON A DIFFERENT PROJECT"

And then I told her I get recruiter calls every day and this project is not making me want to stay on the study. I understand they can't find someone in LA, but this is ridiculous, and I don't think they've kept TRYING, because they have someone (me) doing it. But they need to keep trying.

Seriously, when you've been telling me it'll be better soon since, like, August? And I'm currently looking out to FEBRUARY before it might possibly get any better? No. Just no.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Woo - I sold 2 more things on ebay today, that is 5 things sold this month. I have 3 more things active. That empties a large shopping bag from my living room.

I can't list anymore tonight, but maybe tomorrow - I'd love to clear out another bag before Christmas. This is all just the low-hanging fruit stuff. I need to clear it out so I can dig in and get some real clearing out going.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh, that reminds me -- I brought some stuff to the consignment store the other night, and she took two things, but suggested I bring the rest back after Black Friday. I don't know if they have a sale that day or just get caught up in people's frenzy of buying, but she said they would go through a lot of stock that day. Huh! But also, I should make an appointment for next weekend.

I have a couple of stacks of winter clothes that I should probably go through and get rid of at least half. I like too many of my clothes, and then there is the danger of cleaning them out when I feel like I should only wear sacks.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Pustulence and Pestilence.

Which, god help me, I'm hearing to the tune of Ebony and Ivory.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Go msbelle!

I have a metric shitload of eBay things active, and now I desperately want them all to sell RIGHT NOW because we saw the orthodontist this morning and Matilda absolutely no-doubt needs Work Done in the next couple of years. She's a teeny little noodle with eight grown-up teeth already in that are not only grown-up but big wide grown-up, and the rest that come in will likely be even bigger and wider. Poor little bean.

OTOH, she's weirdly excited about the prospect of getting braces. Which, I don't even. Where on earth does she get this?
