I've generally paid about $75 when I was getting fancy haircuts. And some of those were really great, and nothing I've been able to get elsewhere, but sometimes NSM. But lately have been going to a place where it's about $30 pre-tip.
Does black pants suit seem too, I dunno, waitstaff-ish?
Only if you wear a white shirt under it.
grey suit or brown I think are good.
My current hair place is $50, I think, which I think is medium.
I think a black pants suit is always appropriate, but you could get one that's not black!
Also, Macy's is having a sale on dresses & suits. I like their selection for that sort of thing better than Nordstrom's.
I suppose I should consider getting a new suit: I last bought one probably five years ago, and both me & the styles have changed. In any event, there's a chance I will be interviewing in the not-too-distant future, so.
(The Navy has put in a hiring freeze, and if other agencies follow suit, I may be screwed. Gotta be prepared.)
Ok, I think I got my studio issue worked out. And I finished laundering the linens, so now to remake the bed. Then tackle dishes, I guess.
Then I'll add an organ part and see if I can lay in the midi drum tracks, and I'll call that done. Good enough to show the SO it's working, anyway. He meant to take it with him this trip, but I'm so glad he forgot because it's been really fun for me, and I think I'll have ownership of it in a way I wouldn't have if I hadn't been messing with it alone first. It gave me time to be stupid in private and then go, oh, no, it should be like this. And now I'll have a much clearer understanding of the signal chain and stuff going forward, so when I start actually studying, I'll have the basic tinkering to work from.
My hair looked fine, but the head massage and wine and pampering was really what differentiated from another cut
I was just saying that yesterday about the expensive brow place I used to go to--there was wine before my eyebrows were fucking waxed. Also, the aestheticians were patient, attentive, and never pushed back on any of my suggestions.
Nowadays I walk into the first place with a neon sign saying
NAILS
and a smaller "WAX" written on a piece of paper, and I pay half as much and am twice as irritated, but I think I look essentially the same, and it's twenty minutes out of my day, so no biggie. However, one day my brows will be fucked up, and I suspect it will be the random bargain place--and that's all on me.
Shit--I need to look up the name of that fancy department store in Santa Monica on Fifth and...Fred Segal. I can never remember the name of that when I am trying to talk about it.
I agree with the black suit being better if the shirt's not white. Do you already have the suit, Scrappy? I think it would be simplest to not buy in black if you're going shopping.
I do not have the suit. I have never had a suit. I will drop by Macy's tomorrow and check out what they have...and maybe I WILL have a suit.
My haircut place is about $45 before tip. It was another $100 when I was getting highlights. (I couldn't keep that up financially.)
Unrelated to just about everything: If I do a Google image search with safesearch off for gay hand job I get this, and if I search for gay "hand job" I get this. Neither of those are NSFW, but I'll be damned if I can see how those results are helpful to anyone about anything.
my haircut is $20 with tip, but there is no wash, dry or product.
