Sometimes I miss having powers... Oh. Oh! I know what this is! This is peer pressure! Any second now you're gonna make me smoke tobacco and--and have drugs!

I went to dim sum with roomie and her friend, and then went home for a nap while they explore. Now meeting a friend for coffee. But annoyed that my eyes were not working well earlier...not sure if it was my eyes, a hangover, or a migraine. Hoping the middle one (but on all of two drinks??? Ugh)

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

That does sound lovely! It's a nice day here too. The Biscuit & I ran to the little store for some snacks and 9 volt batteries, and then it was so nice we went to the lake to walk around. Only maybe I wasn't supposed to, because first the lake manager rolled up, sat there a minute, and then left. (Just in time to see the dog do his business, but left before he could see me go back to the car for the bag to clean it up. But I swear I did!) And then in about five minutes a sheriff rolled up, sat there a minute, and then left. I waved this time, because, not doing anything wrong. But still felt unsettled. It was really pretty, though.

Jess, I love when you clear off something like that. It was Buffistas who taught me to look for the invisible places. So now I know I have a lot of work to do, heh. But it really is nice when you can see it again and it's all pretty and clear. I put a new lamp, a photo of us, and a little triple candleholder on top of our dresser, and suddenly it stopped being an invisible hotspot.

Aurelia, you should totally do that show. It sounds really neat!

I am stumped by my current studio issue, but am going to stop with it for the moment and try to knock out more of the housecleaning. I got a reprieve of sorts because the SO is not coming home tomorrow as planned, but Tuesday. But I miss him and am ready for him to come home! But maybe I can make it a nice home to come to. Assuming I stop watching football at some point.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Also I am watching the Daily Show, and the shit about how the ATF has been totally handcuffed by laws written by the NRA is horrifying.

It really is, and once again it is even more horrifying that the Daily Show is the only place I'm hearing about it.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Aurelia, you should totally do that show. It sounds really neat!

I found some info on the location. [link] I downloaded the score and it's not music. It's a breakdown of what sounds will be occurring in the building at what times (again using the Fibonacci sequence), like programs, concessions, elevator sounds, and things that will be in the acts. Not exactly my normal fare.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I don't buy expensive things as often as I'd like, esp expensive clothes. They are so much nicer, but I have a hard time letting myself spend my money in that way. But like JZ I think shoes and glasses are worth it. And evidently I spend more on haircuts than most of y'all because $50 for a woman's haircut sounds cheap to me: my stylist charges $80 for my head, but only $50 for DH and $25 for the kids. But my hair usually only needs cutting 2 or 3 times a year.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I did some menu planning and a fuckload of groceries. Speaking of what you get for your money--I do have my one-meat-splurge-per-week, but even with Gelson's 50% off sale of some of their steak, I wouldn't be dropping that kind of money on a couple pieces. How good (and I like steak a lot) can a $50/lb cut be, and is my palate cultured enough to tell it from the $25/lb cut?

Speaking of food and costs, I was talking to a guy at work about sushi, and I mentioned that I used to to omakase, and then quickly remembered why I don't talk about that. People sure do look at you funny when you tell them you (used to!) drop a chunk of cash on blind raw fish (amongst other things) for an evening. But it was always splendid, wasn't it, Lee?

Those days are past, but I'm glad to have had them, despite the ignominy of our chosen suppliers. I'm pretty sure we never ate anything endangered, but then again...omakase.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I have not had anyone cut my hair in probably 10 years. I cut my own. This said, I loved the $40 hair cut I got from the $90 person, but my hair looks the better when I cut it myself than a $20 haircut at Pennys

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I would be more prone to trying the super expensive meat in a restaurant rather than preparing it myself, I think, as it would suck if I got distracted and bunt it up or something. I do go organic and local and delivered to my front door whenever I can (or some combination of those sets, not necessarily an intersection of all three) though, and pay premiums accordingly.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I am beginning to think about interview clothes. A suit seems the right choice, but I am not much of a dress wearer. Does black pants suit seem too, I dunno, waitstaff-ish?

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I'm glad to have found that one of the million hipster hair cutteries in LA does a great job on my hair for $30. I used to pay $100.
