Now, I can hold a note for a long time...actually I can hold a note forever. But eventually that's just noise. It's the change we're listening for. The note coming after, and the one after that. That's what makes it music.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

So Dad #1 is slightly misguided but trying. Dad #2 just sucks.

Just had my support group and am, as usual, filled with gratitude for my family.

brillig

Today's Google fun is for the birthday of Mr. Zamboni. There's an amusing little game that lets you drive a little zamboni of your very own.

By a series of mistakes ( I thought I was searching mail, I was searching my drive,) I ran across a folder (and subfolders) of stuff I'd been working on back in 2009. During SMOV and just before I went to Nepal/Bhutan, which was crazycakes times.

In this folder was a bunch of files I'd been in the process of reingesting. But I hadn't finished. Interrupted, they were forgotten for 3 years.

Good news: I can now reingest them and get rid of some recurrent errors. My packrat habits serve me well, cause I saved all this stuff off our old ops machine when we switched to linux, 'just in case.' Bad news: THREE FUCKING YEARS. OMGFAIL. So embarrassing. Owned right up to it, but jaysus.

Went out to dinner with B&A and it was $10 bottle of wine night at the Dizz. So I drank half of one to go with my brandied pepper bacon with provolone burger and sweet potato fries. And took the bottle home. Seems like a good plan.

I've got to steam the cat before I crash tonight.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Steaming a cat sounds hard and potentially dangerous.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

and I thought it was just a euphemism.

Steam up the bathroom and stick Devi in it for 5-10 minutes, vet's orders.

Easier than pilling her, for sure!

My life, so glam!

That sounds more doable than what I was picturing.

Medical~ma for all that need it, btw. I am on my phone and therefore lurky, but reading and nodding and having what I hope are appropriate reactions.

Definitely more than what I was picturing. Ouch!

I really don't want to work tomorrow. I think looking at the computer all day will hurt. BUT, I can clearly look at one (hi, typing on one), and if I take the day off, will just laze around and do nothing. Ugh. I have a "work from a cafe" date with a friend for the afternoon.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

-t! Are you going to be in Palo Alto from time to time? We should do something about that if so.
