Y'all see the man hanging out of the spaceship with the really big gun? Now I'm not saying you weren't easy to find. It was kinda out of our way, and he didn't want to come in the first place. Man's lookin' to kill some folk. So really it's his will y'all should worry about thwarting.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Steaming a cat sounds hard and potentially dangerous.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

and I thought it was just a euphemism.

Steam up the bathroom and stick Devi in it for 5-10 minutes, vet's orders.

Easier than pilling her, for sure!

My life, so glam!

That sounds more doable than what I was picturing.

Medical~ma for all that need it, btw. I am on my phone and therefore lurky, but reading and nodding and having what I hope are appropriate reactions.

Definitely more than what I was picturing. Ouch!

I really don't want to work tomorrow. I think looking at the computer all day will hurt. BUT, I can clearly look at one (hi, typing on one), and if I take the day off, will just laze around and do nothing. Ugh. I have a "work from a cafe" date with a friend for the afternoon.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

-t! Are you going to be in Palo Alto from time to time? We should do something about that if so.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Does anyone know how to refer to what we call sweet potato in Jamaica:: [link] ? I want to know if it's available here, and where to go look for it, but google is remarkably unhelpful so far.

Interestingly, at one restaurant, if you order sweet potato fries, you get what Americans expect, but if you order sweet potato as a side (which I sure did--I gorged on almost as much sweet potato as I did plantain tarts), you get the yellow/green variety baked up.

I guess you just get used to the contradictions.

But--sweet potato pudding. I forget how much I miss that.

Did I mention I asked the last nurse about the dent in my head, and he said it looked like there was a healed laceration on one side? I still don't see how that translates to dent, or what my muscles are exactly doing back there, but is that the scar from when I fainted back in the day? That was about 4 years ago. HOW COULD I NOT KNOW? How could barbers, and friends who shaved my head, and doctors who worked on me not mention "Hey! There's a bit of a hole back here!"

And I have no idea what to tell the barber when I next go in.

Maybe? Next time I get scheduled down there I'll let you know as early as I can. It all sems pretty random tightnow, but theres probably a pattern to it. Because it's out of my area the company provides a ride there and back, so I'd have to figure something out to get hanging out time, but that can probably be done.

Woohoo I am home! And looking at 5 days off, which I can sure use. Now to eat dinner and maybe take a hot bath and sleep as long as possible...

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

And I have no idea what to tell the barber when I next go in.

"Could you shave a circle around that to make a kind of target effect?"
