Natter 71: Someone is wrong on the Internet
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Or saying "That is unacceptable" in a no-nonsense voice will magically change the immutable procedures that are in place. Because people panic when they have to say No to other people.
(I love when customers give me the silent treatment when I tell them something they don't like. I don't mind sitting and not saying anything for several minutes.)
Anyone who tells you their toddler is a "huge Niners fan," you know who's really the huge Niners fan in that household.
So apparently having a small lunch and then working out four hours later isn't the best idea.
I love the idea of rescheduling the surgery so he can donate. Choice 1 - surgery now with blood bank blood or Choice 2 - surgery later with autologous blood. Pick one and then SHUT UP.
I sent "your learnings" up to another editor who told me it hurt her soul, but there was so much else wrong with the material that that probably wouldn't even make the top 10. Which is sadly true.
Who postpones their toddler's open heart surgery for some sporting event? I don't care how cool a temporary tattoo he's getting the kid. Priorities, for god's sake!
Yes, technically he was born in a year that is 15 digits prior to the year we're inhabiting now, but LEGALLY HE IS 14, and you robotically repeating, "But he's fifteen" after you've confirmed his birthdate to me does not magically confer legal fifteenity on him. Bad dad, no biscuit.
How is that not epically (word of 2013, so far) stupid. I would give my parents back and go into a caregiver lottery. A border collie would make more sensible medical decisions.
a) it isn't your decision
b) it won't happen.
Poor guy, JZ being all mean to him when his boo boo is sick. No feelings...
(Gives Dad #1 Special Comment face) Although, actually, he is probably having trouble dealing. Which can really *look* like being delusionally crazy.
Not to mention that blood banks are generally even *safer* than designated donor blood (because of the anonymity and heavy duty screening of the former vs. friends and family in the latter sometimes feeling emotionally pressured to give even if they know they're not ideal donors). Which is really just a side note to the main stupid, but still worth noting.
He's probably not dealing either. Not that I know anything about being a control freak about something ridiculous when I am upset. But my friend does.
