"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Oh yeah, we hear regular scritchings and after it snowed this last time, little telltale raccoon prints (they look like baby handprints! There has been a toddler on my deck!) were all over the deck. I still haven't seen one, but I think I may have come close this morning, as the Biscuit pseudo chased something (still on his tether) when we came out for his morning ablutions.

And none of us deserving the cruelty or the grace -- Leonard Cohen

I'm applying my learnings right now, AIFG.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I'm applying my learnings right now, AINotFG. Why can't I get the SQL Browser service to bend to my will?

eta: is it because I learned my SQL Server learnings on the street?

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Yikes, -t! That's just not fair. Bad raccoons!

Can you set up a box with a bungy cord holding the lid down? I see that in my neighborhood sometimes.

In other news, apparently the wingnut right thinks that the Newtown shootings were either completely fabricated or orchestrated by the government in order to justify increasing gun control. So they're harrassing the retiree who sheltered some children during the shootings. God, that's revolting.

Conspiracy theorists make no sense to me: it's really not possible to keep that sort of thing secret, not with all the people who would have to be in on it.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

I'm trying to apply my learnings from yesterday and I'm not coming up with many options.

Noodle is STILL freaked out over being locked in the bathroom for a few hours while the pest guy was here. She flipped out when I left the bedroom this morning. I carried her to her food bowl and she scurried back to the bed. I then carried her to my spot on the couch and she finally chilled a bit.

But we are doing this again next week. The bathroom didn't work well. I can't imagine her carrier being any better.

Because books.

This honestly makes me despair. What is wrong with people?

Are your tables normalized, tommyrot?

My tables are so normalized, they're normalized up the butt. They're, like, so fucking Third Normal Form you wouldn't believe it.

Mostly.

Anyway, the SQL Server Browser service identifies the SQL servers running on our server. At least it's supposed to, but it's only identifying one of them, the bastard.

I don't know if this is an option, but whenever we needed the cats out of the way, we'd take them to a groomer for the day. They'd get shampooed and fluffed, and pick-up was usually pretty flexible.

Whoah! That's almost too much normal to handle.
