Man, if I had a nickel for every time I've had that problem...
I know! Once I spent
hours
dividing my severed heads into "legitimate" and "illegitimate" piles. Then I stepped out to get a burger and returned to discover my dog and been playing with them and I had to sort them all over again.
Kat, have you called the doctor? Does the rash look like it follows the sciatica nerve? That's what popped into my head as I read your symptoms.
And the clothes go round and around and around...
Yikes. This is a disturbing read, but really fascinating: an oral history of the UT Tower shootings in 1966. [link]
Wow.
I saw a made-for-TV movie about this when I was a kid. It kinda' freaked me out.
"potentially legitimate" shipment of severed human heads
And we just re-watched "8 Heads in a Duffel Bag" the other day. Laughed so much at that one.
I heard that story this morning. Isn't that pretty much the series opener of
Bones?
One funny thing: The place that the severed heads were addressed to (they didn't say what it was) is "under investigation", but this investigation has nothing to do with severed heads.
I supposed they could be under investigation for anything, from "receiving shipments of headless bodies" to "failure to pay payroll taxes."
from "receiving shipments of headless bodies"
That would be awesome. And they would cancel out, so investigation solved!
After spending two hours in the laundromat and then catching up here, I now have a mental image of "potentially legitimate" heads rolling around in a laundromat dryer.
People watching there is interesting. Today's installment -
Spy cute guy, maybe close to my age
He calls me honey when asking if he could use the dryer near me
No wedding ring
Lace edged stuff is put in the dryer
His 18 month old daughter is with him
Lace stuff could be hers
Refers "her mom" and not "my wife" and is very chatty
Pulls thongs out of the dryer
Oh well.
Rats, Suzi. It was going so well up until then!
Well, I have achieved the amount of productivity I have allotted for the day. I have purchased and installed the heat tape around my condensate drain line. It was a little more "assembly required" than I was expecting, exactly, but fortunately I'm comfortable with stripping wires and making the grounding connections and whatnot. I'm pretty sure I've installed it in a way that will not burn the house down.
And the furnace is back working, but that's too soon for it to have been caused by the heat tape. However hopefully it will keep it from recurring tonight. It still only ever got up to 19 from this morning's -9.
And then I went to Verizon and ordered the replacement for my mifi I lost. It's not exactly a replacement. But hopefully it will work.
So now I forsee a lot of lying around for the remainder of the day. Maybe I can get some deskwork done, but it'll be bedwork instead.
