Tara: What's so bad about them coming here? Aren't they good guys? I mean, Watchers, that's just like whole other Gileses, right? Buffy: Yes! They're scary and horrible!

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Comedies and musicals shouldn't have to compete. It's dumb.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Comedies and musicals shouldn't have to compete. It's dumb.

I agree, mostly because I would have really loved to see Moonrise Kingdom win something this year.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Getting mad at/ praising the winners is not worth time. HFPA is a 90-person strong collective of weird starfuckers. It's like getting an award from the Freemasons. So stars should not care who wins either!

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

yeah, but getting a Globe can do HUGE things for box office and money is what really matters.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Hey, getting an award from the Freemasons would be a Very Big Deal!

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

What's the estimate on numbers of Freemasons in the US?

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I thought Jodie Foster's speech was just...weird. It seemed like she hadn't quite made up her mind what she was going to say until she got up there. Also, hasn't she publicly acknowledged her (now ex, I guess) partner before? So she was coming out as...divorced? Kind of? And then at the end, announcing she was retiring from public..something. But she won't say what, because privacy!

I dunno, I found the whole thing very offputting. If you're going to spend that long telling us you're not going to tell us anything, I'd rather you just cut the speech short.

Punishingly Intricate

Yeah, and her retrospective made me sad because of how awesome her early films were. I haven't seen, or wanted to see, anything she's done in years.

A quick google suggests either 2.5m or 1.3m, depending on who you ask.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I don't watch award shows, but I love reading the watch-and-post. With no visual context, the reactions to the clothes are hilarious.
