I thought Jodie Foster's speech was just...weird. It seemed like she hadn't quite made up her mind what she was going to say until she got up there. Also, hasn't she publicly acknowledged her (now ex, I guess) partner before? So she was coming out as...divorced? Kind of? And then at the end, announcing she was retiring from public..something. But she won't say what, because privacy!
I dunno, I found the whole thing very offputting. If you're going to spend that long telling us you're not going to tell us anything, I'd rather you just cut the speech short.

Yeah, and her retrospective made me sad because of how awesome her early films were. I haven't seen, or wanted to see, anything she's done in years.

A quick google suggests either 2.5m or 1.3m, depending on who you ask.
I don't watch award shows, but I love reading the watch-and-post. With no visual context, the reactions to the clothes are hilarious.

It was strange. I decided she was probably just drunk and maybe more nervous than she expected to be, all things considered.
I bet she's kind of a weird person, like all of them!
I listed 6 things on Ebay tonight.
It's like I was possessed by msbelle or JZ or something.
I emptied out the storage units at my folks' old place. I have a bunch of excess random tools, and a bucket, and a stepladder. And I would have had two martini glasses but Dad got them. So at least I have a couple new wine glasses, and two champagne flutes, and four tiny little port glasses.
I need to do the dishes.
The most striking moment for me in Foster's speech was when she spoke to her mother. I assume her mom must have dementia? Anyway, made me cry buckets.
I thought Tina Fey and Amy Poehler were great.
