I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

We had an interesting visitor this morning: the neighbor's miniature pig! He must have been drawn by the smell of hash browns and sausage cooking.

Was this pork sausage? Because, oh no, little pig! No no no!

Our wings are not tired.

Not sure the temp. Maybe 80. I am weeding the yard with my son so it seems much hotter than that. The breeze is nice enough and cooler than the air. You would think that always true, but not so much so I am enjoying it.

Our wings are not tired.

Good guess! I checked wunderground and it is 80.4.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Well they did a long warmup and the sun is coming up.

This is a prospect camp so they're not just getting skills but showing recruiters what they can do.

For the next two years he'll be doing camps and showcases on top of varsity and tournament teams.

Omg, how is he old enough for that?? Madness.

I managed to convince myself to leave the house for food. Went to the Montreal bagel place, forgetting they don't carry either of my favorites (onion and garlic). Sad. Had two plain instead (apparently I was hungry!). But now I have a trainer session in 20 min, and that may have been a bad plan.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Went to the Montreal bagel place, forgetting they don't carry either of my favorites (onion and garlic).

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Emmett's planning on playing college ball at the least. Maybe a scholarship then see if he can take it to the next level.

But all the kids at this camp are good so he's getting a sense of the competition.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

all the kids at this camp are good so he's getting a sense of the competition.

Those are always interesting moments in a youth sports career. IME some of them thrive on the realization that being the big dog in their club/school/local team is a small part of the whole picture -- others, not so much.

I hope baseball continues to be an awesome experience for Emmett no matter how far he goes.
