Jayne (Husband): Oh, I think you might wanna reconsider that last part. See, I married me a powerful ugly creature. Mal (Wife): How can you say that? How can you shame me in front of new people? Jayne (Husband): If I could make you purtier, I would. Mal (Wife): You are not the man I met a year ago.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I hope she was getting paid.

She claims not to be (except for a relationship with some place for above the fold ads) and says reviews are unbiased but I'm iffy on her. Frankly I prefer people who flat out say if a product was purchased or free. And better writing and analysis. I am obviously jaded about nail bloggers. But there are some really good ones so I can be spoiled.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Gris, I'm so sorry.

Our wings are not tired.

Gris, that's so tough to lose both grandparents so close together. I am sorry for your loss. I hope you're able to attend both services with a minimum of complication.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

This morning I woke up and it was 1. One degree.

I'm going to be thawing the birdbath all day today! I stoked the fire up and it's blazing merrily along, though, so the dog and I are pretty cozy at the moment.

Connie, I don't know that organization, but it doesn't necessarily mean that they aren't any good. The Navajo reservation is about the size of West Virginia and its population is over 300,000. Only Cherokee is bigger in population, and that's because Cherokee doesn't have a blood quantum. So there's plenty of room for organizations that I know nothing about!

Looking over their website they seem reasonable enough if their work is as stated. I was hoping to find some details on who their "program partners" were, because being Navajo run orgs or groups I am more likely to know them. There were are few things stated in their education section about the Navajo that the Navajo would take issue with! But they are the same things that most people would say.

There certainly is a need for relief aid at the moment because the temperatures are so cold and the weather has made transportation of supplies difficult. So if they are focusing on those most rural areas, those populations definitely need the help.

It's your call, ultimately. I can't help directly, unfortunately.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

What's with the wacky temperatures everywhere? I'm trying to figure out how to layer for 51° on the way to work and potentially 27° on the way home.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Stay warm, folks! 1 degree seems impossibly cold to me. I am such a weather wimp.

Coffee is brewing, but I had a hard time sleeping last night. Isaac woke me up once, and the cat woke me 3 more times. She was mad because there wasn't any wet food for her, but there was a full bowl of dry food and she loves the dry, so I have no sympathy for her. I want my sleep, dangit.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Yeah, it dropped 20 degrees in six hours Thursday. It was 47, and dropped to 27. And now it's 1.
