"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Hey, nail people, does anyone know of a glass fleck top coat? Something like Nubar 2010, but with glass fleck instead of glitter?

Through extensive research I have concluded that glass fleck is my happy amount of glitter, and I would like everything I wear to sparkle that way. Okay, it's probably just because that's the first stuff I bought. But I really like it, and glitter is too chunky and anyway, not the same kind of sparkly. I've been using Sinful Glass Pink over stuff, which works mostly, but is, you know, pink.

Ha, nail x-post. I have no idea what that means, ita.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

I have an office with a desk and chair and stuff, but soon will be relocating to our bedroom. We are making the office into a bedroom for the boys. I don't need much space, so it should be fine.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

What does that mean? I mean, if it's not clear nail polish?

They're just two different flesh tones. I guess the person's point is that more people can wear "nude" polish that's closer to their skin tone.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

What does that mean?

I assume that it means that, like foundations that claim to match "every skin tone" as well, they are lying liars who lie. And the swatches I've found for those polishes seem to support me.

Sadly, I have no glass fleck answers. Except for how that describes the nail I did last night and couldn't put the finish into words. But not clear, so not helpful to you, Liese, sorry.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

At first I thought the response was a bit condescending, and then I remembered he's talking to people who asked for a Death Star. It might be best to speak slowly and clearly and make no sudden movements.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

What does that mean?

Nonsense marketing speak?

It looks like there's a lot of glass fleck top coats over on Etsy, but I haven't tried any of them.

Speaking of nail polish, Illamasqua's "glitterati" is my new favorite: [link]

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

I'm sorry for your losses, Gris.

I am posting this from GaFilk, via my iPad.

Because books.

That's a great polish, Jilli.

It's condescending as fuck but backed up with actual science. I kinda want to make out with that response.

Admittedly it's been a rough night and that made me smile. I might be a bit bloodthirstier than usual.

brillig

Liese, we got a phone call a couple of days ago from an organization called Navajo Relief Fund. They're looking for donations for their elders, and Hubby sorta agreed to send themsome money if they sent us some info. We've got that info, and we're wondering if you've heard of them, if they're on the up and up, or what?
