Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

A great Oatmeal indeed!

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Argh how annoying. I'm trying to book a trip to Seattle in a couple of weeks (sorry Buffistas, I'm going to be in meetings & driving around, no time to visit probably), and the website for the agency we use kicked my flight choices back to me, probably because the flights I picked were not the cheapest.

Well, probably not, but there's no way to tell, because the search engine on the website doesn't show flight prices. You only find out how expensive a flight it after you've chosen it.

NOT HELPFUL.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

So, what I actually meant earlier is that the flu is crazy in Boston this year: [link]

(I think in real life, the flu is crazy everywhere.)

The status is NOT quo.

ND picked up the flu in Florida and was sick as a dog--103 fever in the ER last week. TamiFlu knocked it back after a few days, but everyone, GET your flu shot!

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I've been around people with the flu all through the holiday season, but I did get a flu shot this year and so far no sign of the ick. I hope if I haven't gotten it yet, I'm not going to at all, but we'll see.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Yikes, scary reports about the flu! All three of us got our flu shots already, so I hope we'll be OK. Rose had to get hers in two parts, and we took her for the second one just a few days before Christmas, whereupon she promptly came down with a bad cold, quite possibly from some sick kid in the waiting room. But still, far better to have a cold than the flu! (She's all recovered now.)

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I got my flu shot WAY late this year since Hurricane Sandy pushed back my office's health fair to a date when I couldn't make it into the office. But I did finally haul my ass over to Walgreens so the family is all vaxxed up. (Except Aeryn, who gets her second dose at her 2-year appointment next week. And next year both kids can get Flumist which will make them both much happier.)

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I haven't gotten mine either, but I keep seeing PSAs saying it's not too late, so I'll try to squeeze one in soon.

The flu shot takes 2 weeks to fully protect you (and even then it's not 100% effective), but flu season continues through March, so it's probably worth it (and free with many insurances, and only $20 or so at Kroger/CVS/etc. clinics).
