I think that photo is pretty cool, but I don't get why some are so surprised to see a newborn clutching at someone's hand. Newborns do that!
I think that's what we call a nearborn.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

I "can't hear" mac when he whines, and since he has now heard me say that to him for 5 years, he gets it.
This, pretty much. (Unless it's whining first thing in the morning before I've had coffee, and then I just yell at them until they stop because I am AWESOME at parenting.)
Homework during the week gets done at after-school so thankfully I don't have to deal with it. Over this break the hardest part was getting started. Once he was on a roll it was pretty easy to say "Hey if you do three more worksheets now you'll have the last day of vacation just for play!"
Thanks for the birthday wishes! So far I've spent most of it sleeping, or in my pajamas watching Avengers cartoons.
I have one kid who (usually) happily and easily does his own homework, and another kid who whines, cries, needs absolute silence, etc. a decent chunk of the time. Unfortunately, the easy kid is the one who's 6, and the awful kid is the one who's 9. It has gotten better, especially as the homework is now less idiotic busywork.
Assuming you aren't at work, that sounds like a great way to spend your birthday!
Nooope, I took a vacation day, and that was a very wise decision on my part.
Babies!
In celebration, here
Baby lion paws!
I am trying to decide which is cuter, the photo with the yawn, or the one with the stuck out tongue
