Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Good morning, buffistas! Kids are watching the Rose Parade, and I'm anxiously awaiting my first cup of coffee.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Morning Buffistas! I had a nice time at a party and slept in, and I just had some French toast to start the year.

Later I'm going hiking with a friend, which will be nice, as it's a sunny morning (if cool & windy). But I think my sister & I agreed to go out to the folks' old place and do some cleaning this morning... Sigh. I should call her.

I just wandered out to make some tea and was thwarted. All 4 boys are asleep, with blankets over their heads. CJ pulled out the air mattress, so he is taking up the entire floor and blocking my way to the kitchen. The other three are curled up in corners of the couch (I have a curved double couch, so one at each end and one snuggled into the curve). There is a whole other couch in the same area...all three could have laid out and hand plenty of room. Silly boys.

I think I'll give them another hour or so before I barge through and wake them up.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Happy rollover, b.orgers!

I ended up reading past midnight without noticing, and woke up in a displaced panic this morning, unsure for a while if it was 7:22 AM or PM, until I remember my clocks are 24 hours. Der. But being in my bed (instead of Jamaica) and there being no work or alarm freaked me out.

Does anyone have a good stock site for reference pictures of teenaged girls? Yesterday was a day of visual stereotypes, and there were a couple sullen teenaged girls I want to record, but the poses of teenagers (sullen slouching girl in baggy clothes and fiesty rebel-lite in Hello Kitty and Doc Martens) are important, and not in my head at all.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I am in fact allergic to Clindamycin

Lee, I had the same thing happen after my root canal. It happens. What AB did they give you instead? And do you have pain meds?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

My mother just called to see if I would go over to their place today, and I just couldn't deal. I feel bad, because she was upset over some bs with her mother, but I just can't. If she had asked me yesterday, that would have been different. And of course I couldn't even mention that damn book because she already felt so bad about this other stuff.

Awesome.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

And it just occured to me that I do have a full dinner for three here, so offered to bring it over there later, so that all works out. And gives me a chance to shower and whatnot.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

How is it that I'm still on my morning tasks and it's past noon? Argh.

I call a do-over on 2013.
