Happy New Year billytea, and cativersary aurelia!

Happy moron day to me, since I got up and got to work and sent out a flurry of emails and just now realized (after going to HR to check) that we are off today. D'oh!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh man, brenda! Can you leave now and still look extra-industrious?

I have been here for 3 hours and have not received one email. I think this is the deadest it's been.

I haven't gotten any specific emails today, but two mass ones. Also I haven't done anything myself other than ask one person a question and pay my rent (oops).

I was just looking at the bus schedules, and now I really don't want to go to this party tonight. Stupid suburbs!

Already ensconsed in front of the Twilight Zone marathon. I'm less concerned about looking industrious and more about having pestered people on a holiday. At least I didn't send out any meeting invites.

I stayed up way too late reading last night so if I hadn't thought I had to get working I probably would have slept in too long.

Oh, Brenda. Better than thinking you were off when you weren't, I guess!

I just woke up and am snuggled in my warm bed trying to avoid getting up. But my throat hurts. I keep hoping (it's been hurting for days) that its my body fighting something off, and not "trying and failing and I'm going to get sick soon"

Eh. They don't have to respond.

I came in to work thinking I'd be manning the phones while everyone else was out, and two of my co-workers are here today. Should have gone ahead and used those last vacation hours that I'm otherwise going to lose tomorrow.

I haven't even gotten a mass email. We often get sent home a little early on NYE, and I am suspicious there's no one here to send me home. And I could use more time

I am going to a potluck tonight. I tried to make brownies last night. They flopped and stuck to the pan. Then, because I am an idiot, tried to make caramels for the first time. It would have been fine except that my candy thermometer seemed to get stuck, and I ended up burning them. My instincts told me to take them off, but I was waiting for the temp to return to 245F. It never did. So it's back to the drawing board for me. I would do a cheesecake if I had time...if I got out early.

Maybe I will leave a little early and take some vacation time.
